Today is the second dose of his experimental treatment (it is a treatment used in kidney transplant patients but not in liver). He has continued to slide downhill. His mood is mostly crabby, he's pretty restless and has trouble sleeping. Still awake and eating well and comforted by being held. There was a fear of infection yesterday but so far hasn't shown signs of an active infection. We continue to take things day by day. It's really hard because I feel like he is just slipping away and every time I leave (my husband, mom, and I take 1-2 day shifts) I'm scared that's the last time I'll see him awake
