I used to mix frozen and fresh butvmostly for logistical reasons. I froze in 4 oz amounts but gave her 5 1/2 oz for most of her bottle feeding. I think either way is okay.

I just use the oldest stuff. Ours is from June in a deep freezer and I wouldn't hesitate to feed her May milk either.

I freeze Fridays milk, then Sunday refrost the oldest for Monday. Rest of the week is fresh.

@Smurfette: I do this, except I pump sat/sun morning so that I only have to defrost about 3oz for Monday. This weekend I managed to pump enough to cover Monday, yay! I usually don't mix fresh and frozen because I don't give it enough time to become the same temp....

@Bookish: I go out of my way to not pump on the weekends. Three times a day at work is enough for me.

@Smurfette: haha I don't blame you. I haate pumping. I'm hoping I can keep building my stash to the point where I don't have to. Darn low supply!!

I always used the oldest milk so it wouldn't get forgotten and need to be tossed. I gave fresh milk Tu-F and frozen on M.

I mix with fresh because I have excess lipase so all my frozen milk smells like soap and is gross

I give 1 frozen bottle everyday and the rest fresh...I EP and have over supply so I really need to figure out a better system because my freezer is about to explode with 'boobsicles' (my dear husband's name for frozen bags of milk).

i use the oldest first--LO gets one bottle of thawed milk and two fresh each day at daycare. and i freeze a bag each day to replace the old one that was thawed.
@Mrs. Taco: boobsicles. love it.

I do the same as @Smurfette. I freeze Friday's milk and use the oldest freezer stash for Monday's bottles. I'm currently using June milk.

Right now I'm defrosting 1-2 of the oldest bags a day.. At 11 months, DD still drinks 25-28 oz. a day and I only pump 20.. It's sad, but nice to be cycling through my stash..
