I've been checking Craigslist sporadically for the past few weeks looking to see if there were any good deals for some of the strollers I've been looking at, and I think the way most people price their items completely ridiculous!

I find that most people price their used strollers at about 30% off (or less) what they paid new. For example, a used two year old Bumbleride Indie is listed at $350 right now. A brand new Bumbleride Indie can be purchased for $500. There's a used City Mini GT listed for $300. This sells NEW for $350, so that's not even 15% off. There's a 2 year old BABYBJORN Travel Crib listed for $200, which can be purchased new on amazon for $250.

I understand that people want to recoup their money when selling an expensive item, but this is my gripe with it:

They expect me to pay MORE for something used than they paid to have it brand new.

If I were to purchase that used bumbleride for $350, the owner would have then got back more than half of the cost, and the cost for that person to have a brand new, in perfect condition stroller would have been $150.

I completely understand higher pricing for items that are in almost new condition and have hardly been used, but that's not the case with most of the listings I see. These are worn-in used items, that have the wear and tear that comes with using an item for a couple years - scratches, scuffs, stains, etc. I've sold a lot of stuff on craigslist, and I always price it at least 50% of what I paid for it new. I find it rude that someone expects me to pay more for a used item than they paid for it new!

Anyone else find this obnoxious and greedy?
