I got an eye exam a year ago, and had glasses made based on that prescription. I put the glasses on though, and couldn't really see clearly! So either the eye exam wasn't accurate, my glasses were made incorrectly, or most likely: my eyes got a lot worse in just a year! Going to the eye doc today to get a new eye exam, and new glasses too.

I have an exam every year due to wearing contacts. Last year I had no change in my eyes. This year, my left eye got worse by one step, going from -2.50 to -2.75. That's pretty typical for me, I think.

I don't wear glasses but my DH who is 49 just got an eye exam and his eyes have improved! so weird!

Nope, mine got better in my 30s and then leveled off. I was surprised when it got better, but the optometrist said that was normal. I've had the same rx for 5 years.

I'm another contact wearer, so yearly exam. Mine's stabilized over the past couple of years. My contact prescription has stayed the same while I updated my glasses about a year or so ago.

I have great eyesight still, but I notice my eyes taking longer to adjust from near to far and back again.

In discussing this with several optometrists over the years, I gather that the consensus is that eyes tend to change shape as you age and also often in response to the way in which you're using them, and that all affects your vision.
It sounds like they didn't make your glasses correctly or the Rx was wrong. Have your optometrist (or someone who didn't make them) check the glasses to make sure they match the Rx. I ordered some online a while back and they got it mostly right, but they missed one small part of the Rx and that makes it tough for me to wear them for longer than an hour or two. My optometrist said that happens a lot, even with relatively simple prescriptions.

Not anymore. My vision got much worse in the 3 years I was in law school. Probably from the ridiculous amount of reading, particularly late at night. But since I graduated it has barely changed at all.

My eyes get worse pretty much every year. My vision is something like 20/1300.....my contacts are -11. Lol

My prescription changed a little this year. My eye doctor said it wasn't uncommon but it shouldn't change too drastically. My prescription isn't too strong and I can see fine without my glasses unless I'm looking at something far away. I don't wear my glasses daily so I'm probably not helping things.

I've had glasses since I was 7 (wear contacts now), my eyes still get progressively worse although it has slowed!

Not lately. My prescription hasn't changed in the past 4 years, but they had been getting worse each time up until then.

Mine have actually gotten better. In elementary through high school I had to wear them all the time. After that I just had to wear them for reading. Now I don't really need them at all but I am so used to them I wear them anyway! My left eye doesn't even have a prescription in it!

My prescription hasn't changed much in the last couple of years, but I know I will need bifocals next time.
