Our ped never told me about giving Vitamin D to Kaitlyn but I've read a couple of people here give it to their EBF infants?
I feel kind of behind! When did you start giving vitamin D? Where do you buy it and what brand/type? How do you give it?

I give Carlson's Vitamin D drops... I either drop it on my nipple right before he nurses, or if I forget, I'll put a drop on my finger and have him suck on my finger. I like that it has no taste!

carlson's for charlie and olive and we still give it daily.

I think we started after it was recommended at the 2 week appt? We just bought the enfamil d-vi-sol ones from target. they come with a dropper and I would give them to her at the first morning nursing session. LO always liked it so it was never a problem to get her to take it.

Carlson's are the best! We put her drop in her food now, but before solids it went in her daily bottle.

Our ped told us at our 1 month appt so I got Carlson drops. We either add it to a bottle or I put it on my nipple before she nurses.

Our ped told me at our 1 month appt. I got the Enfamil drops.

Hmph! Now I'm annoyed he didn't tell us! Anyone know where can I buy the Carlson's in a b&m store?

I asked when we went in at two about her sitting up so much. We use the Enfamil drops. I give them to her before she get dressed and R loves them. She smacks her lips every time.

Carlton's off amazon, no dyes or other junk. We've been doing them since 2 weeks.

We were given Vit D drops during our at-home nurse visit, just days after I had given birth. I was instructed to give it to her daily until age 2 since we live in the north and don't get much sun during the winter months.

Same as @Crumbs since we're in Vancouver and the winters are just just not sunny much unfortunately

I think it was around the 2 month appointment or so we were told to since he was EBF at the time. We use the Enfamil ones. LO loves them. We tried them one night and they taste like a citrusy wax.

our ped told us at the 2 month appt-- we use carlson's.

I recommend the ddrops because they're made with coconut oil
We weren't told to start him on vitamin d until the following winter. When he was EBF my ped never mentioned it. She did when he was 8 months and the weather was getting cooler and he was also eating consistent meals.

We were told by our pediatrician at our 1 week appointment, so we started LO on the Enfamil drops. We stopped once he transitioned from BM to formula and he was taking 28 oz.

My doc put us on Tri-vi-sol drops right away. Prescription were actually the Enfamil brand.

I'm so bad at remembering
We use the enfamil ones, but I like what I'm hearing about the Carlson ones!

Our ped never mentioned this, either :/. I read something about it last week and have since started trying to be more intentional about outside time. I read that a white baby in a diaper only needs 30 minutes of sunlight a week. If only their head is exposed, 2 hours a week. The times go up as the skin gets darker (like for asian, hispanic, black, etc). It weirds me out to put my naked baby in direct sunlight, but I figure if I do it just for a few minutes a couple times a day, it's fine.

Our pedi suggested it around 1 month? We use Carlson's, but I'm so bad about remembering to give it to him...maybe 2-3x a week. As it's starting to warm up we'll be spending more time outside, though.

We gave Carlson's Vit D drops to DD daily up until 1 year old and stopped since it's in whole milk, but now I think I am going to start giving it again.

@shopaholic: we use both Carlson and Enfamil interchangeably. You can buy the Carlson drops at the Vitamin Shoppe

We were on tri-vi-sol drops right away, but when we switched to formula we stopped as it has vitamin D in it.

@shopaholic: I bought Carlson's drops at Sprouts. I think they have some locations in the OC.
I also used Tri-Vi-Sol and that worked fine on LO. We bought that at Target.

@autumnlove: good to know! Thanks!
I got them at The Vitamin Shoppe last night and they're cheaper than on Amazon ($10).

@shopaholic: Your ped might not have mentioned it because we live in OC and your baby should get sufficient sun exposure to not be vitamin-D deficient. After reading up on it, I decided against giving C any drops.
