@Mrs. Chipmunk: I'm totally not an expert on this, but in doing a little online research (we just hired a nanny), I kept reading that it's best to use a service in general, because some state taxes can be really difficult plus you have to figure out workman's comp (required for household employees), SS withholdings, etc. Or do you already use a service for all that? If you do, I assume they provide a w2?

@Anagram: i don't have state tax in my state so i'm good there. i've been calculating withholdings since day 1, i'll try and dig up the website i used because it was super helpful
