How do you dress your LO for bed if you live somewhere with warm evenings but chilly nights? We don't have A/C and our house can get pretty toasty on hot days, but it usually gets down into the high 50s/low 60s at night and the house cools down a lot. If I put DD in shortie jammies, she gets chilly, but it's way too hot to put her in longies at 7 when she's getting ready for bed. She's old enough now that I'm fine with covering her with a lightweight blanket before DH and I go to bed, but 1) it always wakes her up, and 2) she won't stay covered anyway. Any ideas?

We dress LO for how cold it will potentially be later. So I always do long sleeves and pants if it's going into the 50s at night. He's also in a sleep sack...have you tried putting her in one with shorts?

@2PeasinaPod: maybe I need to get a lighter sleepsack, she's been sweating in the one we've been using so I stopped putting her in it. What ones do you use?

@PurplePeony: I have an Aden & Anais sleep sack I really like. It's super light weight.
And I'm obsessed with this one. It's the BEST sleep sack I've used yet (have had halo, A&A, and other randoms).

We are having this issue now (been in the 70's during the day, but still frost warnings some nights so it's down into the low 40's!) and LO still wears fleece to bed. If it's hot in the bedroom when she goes to bed, I'll crack a window open and close it when I come to bed. Too chilly at night for anything less right now.

@PurplePeony: I love the Baby Dee Dee sleep sack that @SweetiePie: posted - we have the lite one and the heavy one. The lite one is breathable and keeps him warm enough, but not so warm he's sweating at night. They're pricey, but the only sleep sacks we use!

@SweetiePie: @2PeasinaPod: that on e looks nice but not all that different from the one we've been using from Hanna Andersson -- it's also a double layer of cotton jersey and she is definitely too hot in it. I'll check out the A&A ones to see if they'll work!

@PurplePeony: hmmm yeah I've never seen a Hanna Andersson one in person but judging from the pic it does look like similar weight. For us it's been perfect, and the snaps on the shoulders are by far the best feature
But if the HA one is too warm then I think the A+A Muslin ones are your best bet.

Can you do long pants but short sleeves? We are lucky that C doesn't wake up if we put a blanket on her after she is asleep, but also our condo seems to trap heat so the temp inside doesn't fluctuate that much (I would rather it cool down more at night).
I agree that the A&A sleep sack is really nice and lightweight and soft. We have another one that's really similar, I think from Swaddle Designs? It was a few dollars more but the local baby store only carried that brand.
But if the HA one is too warm then I think the A+A Muslin ones are your best bet.
