I'm thinking of transitioning to exclusive formula feeding soon. How do you warm bottles when you are out?

Ask restaurants, coffee shops, etc for hot water.

We didn't warm them. What I would do would be to pack a half thermos of really hot water, almost boiling, and then mix it with half room temperature water in the feeding bottle. I'd let it hang out for a minute, then I'd add the powder.
I did have one of those warming sleeves that you could plug into the adapter in the car, but I was never actually in the car at feeding times.

My friends with a 5 month old put hot water in a thermos and bring a large cup that they can put the bottle in and then pour the hot water around it. It works great!

How old is your LO? Room temp water was always sufficient for us. I was always concerned I could be trapped out in public without warm water and be SOL with a screaming baby. After probably a month, I stopped warming bottles
We had a portable one that plugged into the car, but we never used it and I believe I returned it.
You could keep a thermos of warm water with you.

My LO doesn't care what temperature his bottle is - whether it's room temp, warm or fridge cold. If you've not tried your LO with a non-warm bottle it's worth a go, they may be ok with it!

She will by 8 weeks soon. I heard that not warming the bottle would give them tummy aches. Is that not the case?

I got a travel bottle/food warmer, I think it's just a thermos w/ a container to pour water into. I might return it if it doesn't prove that useful!

@Pumpkin Pie: Mine never got a tummy ache. I thought it was better to get her used to taking bottles cold in case I couldn't warm it up while out. My friend FF her son and never warmed his bottles while they were out because she may not have had access to hot water.

We never had a problem with room temperature bottles. Sooo much more convenient. I would pack a baby bottle with water in the diaper bag and have pre-measured formula in a container like this:
Mix, shake and serve

@Pumpkin Pie: My LO was born in wintertime, so I would warm the bottle of water before leaving the house. Most diaper bags have that insulated pocket, and it kept it warm, or at least room temperature. Any bottles after the first one, I would ask for a mug of hot water at the restaurant.

We always did warmed bottles, it was just one of those things that once I got into a routine about, I kept doing.
For me, warmed meant body temperature.

In the beginning, hot water. We bought the Tommee travel warmer and it was awesome! Once she was like 7 months she would take them room temp.

I never warmed bottles. Both sons drink it straight out the fridge or room temperature. My friend gave me this tip. It totally made sense since most people drink whole milk cold.

@Pumpkin Pie: no tummy ache! I think that is a myth or old wives tale. The only time I warm bottles is if they are really sick so it will soothe their throat.

If I was at someone's house and they had a Keurig I would run a hot water in a mug. Restaurants I would get a cup of hot water. Otherwise I just did room temp.

I think that's an old wive's tale, too. Never had an issue with it. I think it's just what your babies like and what they get used to.

OK! Going to try the room temp bottle then cold. It would make going out so much easier.

We also never warmed the bottles. I kept gallons of water at home, room temp, and if we were ever on the go we would just use a smaller bottle of water, also room temp.
