Even though I've had 4 pregnancies, each time I got pregnant pretty quickly so we didn't spend a very long time ttc.
When we did clomid + iui though, it definitely felt like more of a chore. We went away for the weekend after I got an IUI, and Mr. Bee was sick. But we had to do what we had to do! It definitely felt more like a chore then. (we didn't get pregnant that month.)
Was ttc fun or did it feel like a chore?

We never TTC so it was fun. We're not trying and not preventing, so it's still fun!

With DD we got pregnant very quickly so I am not sure how it will work in the future but I know that probably spoiled us! Hopefully it's fun

It was fun for the first 3 months or so, it feels so dangerous at first not preventing something you desperately did NOT want for so long. After that it definitely felt like a chore because it wasn't working (something that came so easily to 16 year olds on MTV), and at the 10 month mark we decided to take a month off and "quit" for a while, because it really was not fun at all.
We went on vacation and found the fun again- we were having so much "fun" we missed a baseball game that we were planning on going to... best game I ever missed, got us our boy!

Haha I just posted about this... we've only been TTC for about 3 weeks and it already feels so difficult. Well... not the actual babymaking part but just watching for all the signs, figuring out my cycle, etc. I know others have said it, but I find it slightly hilarious that we're conditioned at an early age to prevent, prevent prevent, and told it only takes one time and led to be fearful of sex. And then we're ready to start, and it doesn't always take one time 
I remember one time reading YM and there was an article about a girl who got pregnant from fooling around with her boyfriend, with no penetration, and I was freaked out for over a month that that would happen to me too!

The first 3 months was kinda fun. Then the next 3 months was a chore. It just became routine. Thankfully we got pregnant at the 6th month mark so the chores ended!

@banana: same here! It was fun at first but then it was somewhat stressful when it didnt happen right away. We ended up with out bfp our 5th month and were ecstatic!

It felt like a chore because the "optimal" times for us were not convenient. My husband works long hours and it required him to come home early from work so we could fit it into our schedule. When we are on our own timetable, it is great, but the added stress of "needs to be tonight" was a lot. Thankfully we got pregnant after 3 months of trying.

at first, it was fun because we were not really trying and just seeing what happens. but after 4 years, it definitely became a major chore. if we go for a 3rd, i think it'll be more fun again because we're happy with the 2.

I agree, I think being forced to try at certain times sometimes made it more of a chore than fun.

we're entering cycle #3, and I'm already feeling like it's a chore. I know, I know, 3 cycles is nothing - but when every female in my family got pregnant first try or by accident, it seems like a lifetime.

I agree with others. In the beginning it was fun and exciting. After a few months it got to be a chore - mainly because you feel like you HAVE to do it on certain days.

We are in cycle 5 and though I'm/we're trying to keep it fun, when you 'have' to do it on certain days, it can feel like a chore.

A little of both. Charting was a chore but once you knew it was time for making a baby it made everything a million more times exciting. And I also got pretty lucky and didn't have to TTC for that long. 3 months total, including a miscarriage.

It was mostly fun but I'll admit that it turned into a little bit of a chore because of my husband's hectic work schedule. Sometimes I don't see him for 3-4 days because of work then when we're both home one needs to be sleeping. There were a few times I would get frustrated because I felt like we were missing out on the best chances. My husband would definitely tell you it was all fun for him because he wasn't at all stressed about timing it right. He always said it would happen when it would happen.

It was fun for the first few months, but after about Month 6 it started to feel like a chore....charting, OPKs, legs in the air, the whole 9. We got pregnant in Month 10, but lost the pregnancy. Trying again after that felt even more like a chore. Luckily, we got pregnant again in Month 13.

It's fun for us right now, but we're only on cycle 2. We told ourselves that we'd have fun with it for a good 6 months before getting serious about charting/temping. We're going to try the every other day method this first month of 2012 WISH US LUCK!

It was fun at first when we were not preventing because it could happen any time, anywhere! But after unsuccessfully trying for months, and I started chatting and the spontaneity ran out it was definitely more of a chore and very stressful on both of us. I think im glad I got pregnant when I did because I think it would have wreaked havoc on our sex life!

Chore. Doing it for a year with no results would make anyone feel like it's a chore. Got lucky when it was time to check out a doctor though. Whew!

Um, a little of both. It was fun for DH because I never told him my fertile days and he loved that I 'took charge' so to speak, but I sort of felt like I HAD to do it, etc and it got exhausting.
