We started ttc at our 2 year anniversary, but I think I would have been ready a little sooner, while Mr. Bee wouldn't have minded waiting a little longer. It's a good thing we didn't wait too long though since it took us awhile to have Charlie.

I wanted to start sooner than my husband did. He had a much longer list of things he wanted us to accomplish before we started TTC. However, I am glad that we waited longer than I wanted now because I have loved this time with just the two of us. We will have at least two years of marriage just the two of us before a LO comes.

Yep, luckily! We have a lot of friends who aren't on the exact same page (one is ready, and one still isn't ready) and I feel sad for them.

I wanted to start a good 4 months before my husband did. However, even though we are not successful yet, I am glad we waited so that we both felt ready to try and are in this 100% together. My sister started trying before her husband was ready with her first one and it was "her pregnancy" and "her baby" more than about the two of them.

Nope! He wanted to wait 5 more years. I'm almost 3 years older than him though. I was ready!

Nope, not the same time... we've been married over 4 years now, and the husband was ready probably a year ago, whereas I was quite resistant. We kept getting nagging questions from his family (and occasionally from my mom) and the more we got asked, the more annoyed I got! So that put me off... I've just recently started adjusting my mindset and am ready, I think... (thanks, Hellobee!)

We waited until after our second anniversary to start trying. It was our agreed upon timeline when we got married. With a slew of births in 2011, it made waiting impossible. At times I was more ready than my husband. Once I got off birth control, we both got ready for TTC.

Yes and No. We just married in July so we both knew we would try immediately after my 2nd myo. However, I wanted to start prior to our wedding since I'm 41.

Well, when we first started dating, he said he wanted to be married for a year before we thought about kids. Then we dated for 7 years and, well, we were older when we got married at that point. I was ready in February, he wanted to wait a little longer. Thankfully we didn't wait too much longer.

Yes. We both wanted to wait 6 months-a year after getting married before TTC. Although we dated 5 years, we never lived together before we got married. We got married in June and we'll be TTC in April.

Yes and no. When DH and I started dating and even up until we got married, he wasn't sure he even wanted kids. I made it clear from the start that if he married me, he was going to be a father, so it was his choice to make. He chose to marry me and we've been gradually working through his fears of parenthood, which mostly stem from being financially able to support a family and having a good work/life balance.
Recently, I decided that I would like to should start TTC in May. I can't say he's completely worked through his issues, but he's supportive of the timeline and has started to become excited about all of the things that come with having a baby. So I'd say we're in pretty good shape...

I was slightly more ready than my husband but we both agreed to start next cycle. He has definitely gotten more excited the more we talk about it and prepare for it!

We discussed kids the night we got engaged. And we both said we wanted to try right after we got married. I was reading what to expect on our honeymoon!

My husband was ready to start trying but wasn't ready to admit to being ready. He's the kind of guy who just needs something to happen and then he realizes he's wanted that all along. It took him 9 months to say he loved me and then another 9 months after that to propose. Once he finally asked me to marry him he was ready to get married the next day.
Now that I'm pregnant he's excited and ready for the baby to just be here already but scared and nervous at the same time and could easily have another year to prepare.

DH was ready quite awhile before me partly because I wasn't prepared to have babies before being married and I wasn't ready to be married. I enventually told him to drop the subject for six months so I could have time to think about it (and so we could take our holiday to the US and Disneyland!). It was all very well for DH to say he wanted babies when it wasn't actually him that would have to be pregnant and give birth etc!
We got engaged in May 2010 and have been TTC since we married in February 2011.

Yes and no. For the first few years of our relationship, we were very open that neither of us wanted kids anytime soon, and maybe never. Gradually over time, we started talking more about "maybe" to kids, and at some point my husband really wanted kids. So, he was ready long before I was.
Before we got married, and obviously before we started TTC we agreed on a timeline, and talked for a long time about what each of us wanted. So yes, in the end, we waited (or, he waited) until we were both completely on the same page about the entire TTC process and didn't start until we were both ready.

Hubby would rather wait a little longer so that we can be better prepared financially but we have agreed to TTC in February. I had hoped to TTC right after our wedding in September but understand his perspective. It's tough to wait but know that we really did need a few months to pay off some debt. I am 36 and DH will be 38 by the time we TTC, so I think he is comfortable compromising with our February TTC timeline, knowing I am don't want to wait longet because of our age.

Yeah, we both deiced to "pull the goalie" once we got married, and we did that, it did take us 13 months to conceive, and we were beyond ready for a baby by the time it happened!

this is where we are now--I'm ready but he's not. Logistically all our ducks are in a row, there's nothing tangible that we want to cross off a list or anything, he just isn't ready to change our lifestyle yet or take on that responsibility. It stinks! We've talked about starting ttc next summer, but having a timeline just makes me impatient and makes him feel pressured, so I'm trying not to think about that!

We agreed we'd wait until we were married for 1 year before we started, but then I got a little impatient. I explained to DH that it can take up to a year to get pregnant, and then almost another year before the baby arrives. When I explained it that way, he was on board, so we started trying 3 months before our first anniversary. Took us a while and baby is now due right around our second anniversary.

Our timelines changed from when we were first married (we both wanted to wait at least 4 years because I was in law school at the time). Then we decided that I would pursue my MBA instead and upped our timeline to 2 years... then it changed again after our 1st anniversary... and right before DH's 30th birthday... we were both ready and decided to pull out the goalie and get off meds, etc. We actively are TTC a few months after we both decided we were ready!

I was ready to start on our wedding night :D, DH wanted to wait a year, so we compromised and started trying once we hit a financial goal we both set together, which was about 5 months into marriage

Not really. I was mcuh more ready about a half a year before him. He had so many other things he wanted "in line" before we started. But then he started to get the baby fever too. Think it was different and took longer for him seeing as he already has a child from his previous marriage, and I totally understand that.

Yes, both being ready was the reason we decided it was time to get married (we had been together for 7 years by that point). Shortly after we were married (once insurance kicked in) we started TTC, but it took 10 months- so not too long after our first anniversary, we got our BFP.

We were definitely on the same page. He was actually ready before I was, but I think that's because he's 7 years older than me. He never told me he was ready because he didn't want me to feel pressure. I was shocked when I mentioned having a baby to him and he jumped right on board.

Yes, because we both went from not wanted kids to wanting them at about the same time. We are waiting to try right now bc I have to have surgery first, but DH has been really cute bugging me about when I'm finally going to stop taking the pill!

I was ready about 3-4 months before him, but we really did have to wait because we had a 3 week trip to Asia planned and it would have sucked to be dealing with morning sickness, etc. on the trip. Little did we know how hard TTC would be (currently on month 11!). So much for planning!
