Did they push and not play with others nicely? How did/do you deal with it?

My LO isn't the bully type. He is usually walks away from confrontations. Yesterday his younger cousin pushed him away from a toy he was playing with. I felt horrible that he was being bullied from his own cousin.

Does it happen in certain situations? My son isn't what I would call "handsy" in that he heeps his hands to himselfMOST of the time. Exceptions are when he is playing with something and another child swoops in and tries to take it away without asking (which is behavior we do not accept from our son).

Pushing, taking things, getting mad when others take things from her, throwing things when mad. We had a rough day yesterday at a local kids museum. Then, she went from happiest toddler ever to manic when she saw another kid already in the daycare room, playing with a toy she all the sudden decided she needed to play with. Sigh.

@mediagirl: I understand completely. If it makes you feel any better, this is how she's learning to cope. I always made it a point (if the child's other parent was around) to apologize and react when my son did something to another kid. The other parent may say "it's okay" and then at least I know we're on the same page.

We're trying the "give her room but step in when needed" tactic. Yesterday at the kids museum, we sat back and let her play but if she did something mean, we stepped in and said something. I need to work on apologizing to the parents...I'm not good at talking to people I don't know. -
@mediagirl: I was as well, but you know, I've found that a lot of parents actually welcome the interaction! I have talked to so many parents I normally wouldn't have at the children's museum!
