Our Step 2 water wheel table just cracked so I am looking to replace it.
Does your water table have a drain? It isn't a huge deal but would be a nice perk to have!

I don't know if I've seen one with a drain. My LO would probably figure out the drain feature pretty quickly and then I would keep having to refill it.

I thought most of them had drains? Ours has a drain, I don't think E has even ever noticed it. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=23371506&cagpspn=plat_16630067&camp=PLAPPCG-_-PID16630067:TRUS&eESource=CAPLA_DF:23371506:TRUS

We bought this one yesterday - http://m.step2.com/h5/product?path=/p/Big-Splash-Waterpark
For me the drain was key - due to pollen, birds, etc I want to drain it every day; this way I can just position it over the patio drain and let the water out.

I ordered a step 2 the other day and it has a drain!

Just so everyone doesn't think I'm gross, we do dump it out at the end of each play session and refill it next time. I just meant I would have to refill it every two minutes if LO spotted a drain. She loves to open the drain in her bathtub!

I kinda thought they all did. We have the pirate ship one from Costco and it has a drain and umbrella.

Ours is about 4 yrs old maybe 5? And no drain - this must be a newer option

We have the Little Tikes Pirate Ship water table. It has a drain, but you have to reach under the water table to open/close it. I like it because its easy to drain (standing water attracts mosquitoes), but I don't think my toddler could easily open it.

@Mrsjets: Oooh, I like it!
@Smurfette: That one looks fun!

No drain-- we just tip it over to dump the water out onto the grass. I think the drain would take too long.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether a cover for the water table would be useful? I plan to empty out the water but thought a cover might be nice for tree (and bird) debris.

@Truth Bombs: on the drain...I had 2 one year olds and two 3-4 year olds playing with the table today. The one year olds immediately spotted the drain and kept pulling it, which got the older kids pulling it too. It didn't even occur to me that this would be a problem! I'm a wimp and would probably struggle to dump a full table, but instead I'm stuck constantly refilling.
@raintreebee: a cover would be very useful. I'm having to clean out tree debris every day before I fill it. I might buy a tarp of some sort.
@Bluebonnet: cool! Wonder if I could turn our drain upside down.

I have this one (my daughter LOVES it) and it has a drain http://www.amazon.com/Little-Tikes-Spiralin-Waterpark-Table/dp/B004INDQWY/

No plug on ours.
@PinkElephant: hm a small tarp is a good idea. I drain it every night but sometimes just during the day it gets yucky with bugs and such. It'll be nice to only have to empty it at night!

No, but I drilled a hole and found a small plug the right size (actually the rubber stopper from a blood collection tube)
