SO EASY.
White washed the brick and used a high heat black spray paint for the doors.
Goodbye brass and red brick! I really hated that fireplace! We don't even use it and it was so ugly!
Anybody else doing any work on the house this weekend? We're doing kitchen light fixtures next!

We used a 3:1 ratio and did two coats. There's a tutorial on infarrantly creative-you brush it on and then dab and wipe with a towel. DH took the doors off and I took them outside and solvent cleaned, taped, and sprayed. That's it!

That looks great!! We need to paint the inside of our fireplace and get gas logs installed this fall. We have marble around it instead of brick but we need to replace it as well.
This weekend we are finally organizing the office, hung the frame wall in R's room, baby gate installed, and then frame wall in hallway done!

Looks fantastic!! Great job.
We will be doing a lot of work in our new house... including painting cabinets and replacing the countertops in our kitchen. And stripping wallpaper. Lots of ugly wallpaper!

@blackbird OMG we are living parallel lives!!! I did this exact same thing yesterday (painted brass and white wash) I don't have a good before picture right this second (on my phone) here is the after (still need to mount the TV on top). Instantly gratifying!! So much better than that ugly red brick and even uglier brass (even though its making a comeback lol)
ETA- I did a half and half ratio because I wanted a lighter look... just enough to still show the texture of the brick. We did two coats. The second coat was 2 parts water and 1 part paint.

Looks great!!! DH is making progress on our master bedroom project this weekend--we are doing two built in closets with a window seat with drawers and hardwood floors. The closets should be done after tomorrow, and then on to painting them!

@pepper-ugh that's a lot of work! This whole room had wallpaper. HATE. I'm sure it'll look amazing when you're done!
@reese-ah it looks great!! You had SO much brick to cover! And I do NOT want to hear that brass is making a comeback. Yuck!
