At birth, were your babies similar weight? Or were they drastically different? (Options for different and similar gestational ages of different babies.)

Both my kids were born at 38 weeks 4 days gestation by early ultrasound dating. DS (older) was 7 lbs 13 ounces, DD (younger) was 10 pounds!

Curious to see answers. My midwife told me last week second babies are usually a quarter to a half pound bigger than first (assuming roughly same gestational age). So based on feeling my belly and C being just over 8 lbs, she guessed this one will be between 8 1/4 and 8 1/2 lbs. we will see- soon I hope!

@Foodnerd81: Yeah I'm curious too. DS1 was 8lbs even. But he went past due date and she isn't going to let me go past this time so this one may be smaller because earlier.... I had a growth ultrasound today at 36W3D and he was looking like 6lb 7oz right now.

Born at 39 and 40 weeks but over 2lbs different!

Baby 2 was half an ounce heavier and I was pregnant with her 6 days longer, so roughly same gestation and essentially the same weight

I'd say similar on all counts. DD1 was born at 38 weeks and was 6 lbs 15 oz. DD2 was born at 40 weeks and was 7 lbs 4 oz.

@travellingbee: well C was born one day before her due date and I'm 39 weeks today so hopefully their gestational age will be similar!

DS- born at 34 weeks weighed about 4.5 lbs
DD- born at 36 weeks weighed almost 6 lbs -

Pretty close! They were both born at 39 weeks. LO1 was 8lb 13oz and LO2 was 8lb 3oz. I had GD with LO1.

Ds was born at 40&3 9lb4oz -
almost identical -
DD1 - 3.36kg, 51cm - 39+3
DD2 - 3.51kg, 49.5cm - 39+2 -
DS was ten weeks early and just shy of 4lbs, DD was three days late and 9 even. But if DS had continued growth on track he would have also been about 9 pounds.

DS2: 7lbs, 11oz at 40+2I had a much bigger appetite with DS1 and gained 40+ pounds. With DS2, I had HG for the first 20 weeks and only gained 25 pounds. Both boys were healthy!

DD2 - born 39.6 weeks 9pounds 3 (4185g) -
Other: Mine were similar weight at 41+2 (8lbs 7oz, 3,840g) and 38+4 (7lbs 11oz, 3,480g) but totally different in length (22.5in vs 19.75in, 57cm vs 50cm).

DS: 40w 6d was 7lbs 13oz
DD: 39w 1d was 7lbs 5ozSo, close in size. I'm assuming they would have been almost identical if they were born at the same time.
My brothers were both the same exact size age they were born. I was a pound lighter, but 4 weeks early. So I probably would have been about the same had I not been early. -
DD1 - 40 weeks exactly - 7lbs 6oz
DD2 - 40+1 - weighed 8lbs 2oz

Both were born at 40w 5d and DS2 was about a pound heavier.

DS was born 40+5 and weighed 8 lbs 9 oz
DD was born 40+1 and weighed 8 lbs 10 oz -
DD: 7 lb 9 oz at 40+1
DS: 7 lb 10 oz at 39+5 -
Although they were born different weeks and weighed different, I think they would've weighed roughly the same had they been born the same week.
DS1: 39+1, 8 lbs 14 oz
DS2: 37+4, 8 lbs 8 oz -
almost identical! dd - 6lb7oz at 37w5d, ds - 6lb6oz at 38w

Both born at like 39W and were both 9 lbs (my second actually a few ounces less).

I'm really curious about this too! E was born at almost exactly 40 weeks and was 8lb12oz, but they were guessing 7lbs4oz (based on my stomach size and a super quick U/S when I was in labor). This one will be born at 39 weeks, and they're guessing the same weight for her (7lb4oz), but I've had over 10 ultrasounds at this point, so I feel it could be a little more accurate? I dunno, we'll see next week!

LO1 was born at 40+4 and LO2 was 41+3 but both were 8lb 5oz. LO2 has been following a smaller percentile since birth though (she's had more feeding issues and lost more initially but is back on track, just smaller).

DS1 - 39+1 - 10 lbs 9 oz
DS2 - 37+5 - 7lbs 2 ozBig difference. I was diagnosed with GD with DS2 so I monitored my diet. I think if DS2 would have come at 39 weeks he would have been about 8-8 1/2 pounds so still a big difference.
