Mine were. I was induced so I got ready before I went in. I even had makeup on and my hair curled!

I took a shower and shaved as soon as I started having contractions!

I have no idea. But did a couple weeks before and got a Brazilian. My water broke at 9 at night, so my makeup was probably all washed off from the day. But I didn't put anything on cause I knew it would be a long night. I didn't even think about putting some on before pushing for pictures.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: yes! I was scheduled to be induced and had been on bedrest for three weeks, that morning I made appointments to get waxed/polished/hair/the works! I knew it would be a while before I could be fully pampered again

I had a scheduled induction, so I prepped before heading in. Shaving my legs at 41+6 was hilarious.

Yep, I was induced so everything was taken care of. I showered that morning before I went in and did my makeup. But after almost 24 hours of labour and a csection I looked/smelled pretty gross!

@rachiecakes: that's my kind of woman!!! I have a massage and pedicure this week....maybe i should schedule some waxing. It's pretty scary down there....

Yep! As soon as my water broke I showered, shaved, and did my hair and makeup. My parents beat us to the hospital because I took my time getting ready.

I had a solid wax session the Wednesday before. At that point I was 40+4, and from there on in I had no hair worries once it was ripped out!

@heartonastring: OMG....I remember smelling terrible after delivery.....

Yup! Took a bath to see if they would calm my contractions. Wish I had done makeup, but it was 10pm and contractions came fast!
I think I did get a Brazilian a week or 2 before!

Ok you ladies have me feeling kinda bad! Nothing was shaved for my delivery lol. I went into labor 3 days early and it was the last thing on my mind at that point! I don't even think I had deodorant on. I went into labor at 2am and by morning my contractions were strong enough that I didn't even get ready for the day. I also had a Homebirth, so it's not like I was going out in public lol

I went into labor unexpectedly when I was getting ready, like right after I got out of the shower my water broke. It was a WTF moment, so I didn't really care about hair/makeup. We just rushed to the hospital. BUT, my legs were shaved. I hate being hairy.

It's part of the myth of my (induced) birth that my mom got up early, shaved her legs, washed and curled her hair - then put it up in a bun so that it could be shaken out and fall "just so" after the birth, put on just enough makeup that it wouldn't run, etc. Apparently she was glowing and gorgeous after her 8-hour, induced, med-free labor.
I'm going to vomit now.
Wanting a similar experience, I tried all of that. 45 hours of labor and 4+ hours of pushing later, I was a hot mess with not one stitch of mascara left and two completely red eyes from burst blood vessels. The worst part is that I had to have a blood transfusion, so they wouldn't let me take a shower until 36 hours after my daughter was born.
So, yeah, I shaved my legs. But it didn't help.

I did but it might have started growing back little stubbles by the time I gave birth! lol

Nope, my water broke very unexpectedly, and things went so fast that I didn't even think about taking a shower.
I should have and enjoyed that last shower in the hour between my water breaking and contractions starting, but I was too worried about wrapping up work and the basketball game on tv!

I had a planned c-section so I came in shaved and with hair and makeup done. The nurse was surprised I "had already shaved down there" lol - she was older. If I was going to sit naked on an OR table with tons of people staring, I wanted to look my best. My first photo looks great because of it but the rest look horrendous. Once I could feel pain I looked like crap!

i think they were. i don't remember which probably means they were!

I think so. I had a really long early labor. I know I showered and then tried to do my hair for those first after pictures, but by then the contractions were coming pretty hard. Then I ended up laboring in the tub an shower for a long time anyway so the steam made it look extra hot, I was a sweaty mess so better that I had no makeup, and I burst blood vessels in my face pushing. And the room a was really dim so the first pictures are dark and grainy anyway
But yes I think my legs were shaved. I was pretty conscientious about it in the two weeks before my due date.
