At what age would you trust your kids in bunks? My twins are three and my oldest will be four in November. They are getting pretty tall but the only way to get them into twin beds is to make a triple bunk. We have very small rooms. I just have nightmares of them jumping from level to level and being awful. Our transition to toddler beds was a nightmare of destruction and I am a little gun shy at this point but they are starting to outgrow the toddler beds.

This just reminded me of the movie "Step brothers" I think they were 39 and 40 and they failed at bunk beds. Good luck!!!

@Oceanis723: Omg I think it's inevitable that tour kids will jump off the bunk bed. I had a bunk bed from the time I was about 6 until I was a teenager and my bother and I I always jumped, rolled, spun or did gymnastics off it lol seriously as a 14 year old I was still jumping.
I don't think 3 is too young.

Our girls were 8 and 4 when they got their bunk beds.
We've had no accidents to date. -

What about a bunk bed with a pull out trundle bed underneath? Or maybe a bunkbed with a removable ladder, so you can control when they get up on the top bunk?
I nannied for my cousins when they were 5 and 3, and they had bunk beds. They just weren't allowed to play in their room unsupervised, and everything was fine. Worked out ok, since they also had small rooms, and there wasn't a lot of space for them to play in there anyway!

Our friends have a bunk bed set and they said per the manufacturer, the child on the top bunk should be at least 6 years old.
