Whenever LO is pooing, she stands still and pushes and her face turns red so I always know that it's a poo. But over the last few weeks, whenever LO pees, she crouches and pulls on her diaper in the crotch part. At first I thought it meant that her diaper was full but I've actually heard the pee a few times. When she's done peeing, she stands right back up and goes back to playing.
LO will be 17 months old next week and she seems young.
Thoughts?

I'd try training her.
My Lo grabbed at her crotch and says eunngah before she poops, but she doesn't like sitting on the toilet. I think we waited too long .. Waiting for the next window of opportunity!

I'd also look for ability to pull pants up and down, interest in her little potty and ability to tell you how she's feeling. We started at 18 months.

Yeah, awareness that she's going and interest in the process of using a toilet are what I'm waiting for. Lots of little girls especially train really early. My 15 month old has started telling me when she needs a change (POOPISH!), which is a good first step. I'm going to get her a little potty soon and just leave it around for her to try out when she feels like it.

For us the signs were our son understanding and being excited when he knows he's done something right, walking, and some form of communication though we didn't expect full words or sentences. We potty trained at 19 months and do so knowing we would likely have to prompt him longer than if we'd waited due to his limited verbal skills and we'd be involved in the process more due to his inability to fully manipulate his own clothes. I think the method you choose to use to potty with can make a difference as to what signs you are looking for.

I'd definitely try training her and following her readiness signs. we started at 18 months with charlie and for several weeks he was pooping and peeing on the potty every morning. then he kinda lost interest and we didn't push it since Olive was going to be born any day. I think if we stuck with it, we could have trained him then though.

We started potty learning at 6 months old. We would sit him on the potty and let him watch us potty. At twelve months old, he started successfully peeing occasionally. By eighteen months he will tell us immediately before or after going potty. He pees almost every time we sit him on a potty. I wouldn't say he's potty trained but he is definitely on the path. The only sign he doesn't have is dressing and undressing himself.
I don't see any reason why you can't start on the potty training path. Typical signs are communicating their desires, ability to stay dry for 2 or more hours, dressing and undressing themselves.

Sounds ready to me! I haven't trained yet but my mom always said she knew when we were ready when we crouched or went into a corner and "hid" when we were going potty in our diaper. I was potty trained completely by 18 months! Good luck!
