I am helping my boss interview some candidates next week and he gave me some questions that he wants me to ask. One is...what are you passionate about?
I have no idea how I would answer this question these days. I want to mention my family but I don't want employers to be scared off!
How would you answer this interview question?

family, God/church, friends, sleep. Okay, last one has more to do with only getting 4 hours of sleep last night, so I probably wouldn't say that one.

When I saw your title the first thing I thought about was letting people know the difference between "organic" vs "certified naturally grown".

Animals! I feel very passionate about the treatment of animals. I have such a soft heart for all of my furry friends, and my heart just breaks whenever any of those ASPCA commericals come on. DH knows to turn it off immediately otherwise the water works start.

If I were answering the question during a job interview, I'd be pretty selective of my answer, only because you never know what will set a person off.
I'd probably go with sharing information in that case...I don't believe in keeping all of the facts to yourself, the more people that know the better. I teach everyone around me new stuff I learn.

@looch: True, I would probably answer it different in an interview.
In an interview I would say, dependability. It peeves me when people are consistently late to work, or don't respond to e-mails in an appropriate amount of time.

In a job interview, I would make a joke in response to this question. I would probably say something like "Laying on my couch and watching TV"

I did a phone interview this morning and I threw in this question. The guy's response was: I am passionate about Microsoft Excel. Probably total BS!
