I'm reading 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.' I saw the movie about two weeks ago and I was interested in what the movie missed so I got the book.
What are you reading? It doesn't have to be book. It can be magazines, kid's books... anything.

@bluestriped bee: How was the movie? I loved the books and enjoyed the Swedish version of the film, but didn't get a chance to check out the new version in theaters...
I'm reading parenting books these days... nothing too interesting alas.

The book series is really good! Hard to start, but once you get past the first 100 pages or so, it's addicting!
I've downloaded the Game of Thrones series, but I haven't been able to get into it!

@mrbee: I heard from people who read the book first that it's really confusing and hard to follow in the beginning but since I saw the movie, I understand it all. I think it's the only book that benefited from watching the movie first.

I stopped reading The Girl with the Dragon tattoo because I couldn't get into it in the first chapters. Maybe I'll pick it up again. I've been working my way through Game of Thrones (so long!), but I took a break and started reading Blackout by Connie Willis on a coworker's recommendation.

@joyjoy: I'm having the same trouble with Game of Thrones! Stick with the GWDT! It took me a few months of picking up and putting it down before I got sucked in, but then I read all three back to back!!

@joyjoy: It took me several attempts to get into the first book, but once I did, I couldn't stop. I flew through the 2nd and 3rd.
Right now I'm reading "The Things They Carry," by Tim O'Brien. It was recommended by a friend. It's ok. It's about the Vietnam War.

I also started reading the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo after I saw the US version of the movie... but I haven't been able to get into it! And then I got sidetracked...
We just recently watched the first season of the Game of Thrones TV series and I got hooked (even though I didn't expect that at all!), so I am currently reading the second book. My husband had loaned his copy of the first book to his dad but had the second and subsequent ones on Kindle, so that's why I started there. So far, I don't really feel like I needed anything from the first book that I didn't pick up from the first season of the show. I have also heard that the first Game of Thrones book is hard to get into at first, but if you stick with it for the first few hundred pages, you'll be hooked (when I heard that, I thought, why on earth would someone "stick with" a book for several hundred pages if they couldn't get into it sooner? But now that I am well into the second book, I totally get it -- it's worth it!).
Otherwise, I read Hellobee of course

@mrsjyw: series is excellent and I loved the books! It's a bit of a time commitment, but once I got into it (and figured out all of the characters) I was hooked. Agree that it takes a few hundred pages, but if you read all of the books it's like 5,000 pages!
I am listening to Atlas Shrugged right now. ( had a tough time sticking with the book ) --- just finihed Bossy Pants when ignoring Atlas - Tina fey is so funny.
Read hunger games & dragon tattoo books ---- need a new series!! Any reco's?? I commute via train so lots of reading time.
