Into the Water by Paula Hawkins (Girl on the Train). . Just started and so far it's got my interest!
I recently finished What Alice Forgot and LOVED it!
Anyone else have a hard time starting a new book on the heels of a great one? I always do!

I finally managed to read Great Small Things by Jodi Picoult which was a great book, as all her books are.
I am just starting my next school course so it seems unlikely that I am going to be able to read for pleasure anytime soon...

In The After by Dimetria Lunetta
It's another post-apocalyptic young adult, but it's AMAZING. I was hooked from the first page and I can't put it down!!!

@Bao: It just feels like I'm too involved with the characters and I can't really get into the idea of liking new characters/books. But usually after a chapter or two I'm hooked and the process starts over.

I'm currently reading The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews...so far so good, an easy entertaining read with a bit of mystery.
@SweetiePie: loved What Alice Forgot! I heard it's going to be made into a movie but I'm sure it's still a couple years out.. Once I've finished a really good book I have to wait a short period of time before starting another....kind of like a digesting/mourning period.

I'm reading book 4 in the Outlander Series, Drums of Autumn. I really liked the first book, but the rest have been pretty slow.
@Adira: Looking that one up. ETA: just borrowed it from the online library, now to decide if I should finish Drums of Autumn or start this one instead!

A Gentleman in Moscow - it's about a poet in Soviet Russia that is sentenced to live out his life in a hotel where he had an apartment. I'm loving it, though it's taking me a long time to finish, as I'm on maternity leave and don't have a subway commute at the moment!

@Caly: YES. MOURNING. That's exactly the feeling. I'm sad they won't be in my life any longer. Lol.

@josina: @Bao: I loved the first Outlander book too, but really couldn't get into the second one!
@josina: I'm probably going to finish In The After tonight! It's been so hard to just put it down at night and force myself to go to bed! I've already ordered book 2. I think it's just a two-book series, so it's not too long.

Following. I need some great summer reading.
Right now I'm working on Slade House by David Mitchell. I read The Bone Clocks a few months ago, and figured I'd stick with it. It's pretty interesting seeing how he's tying all of his novels together, even though they're all pretty different.

I'm reading Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I'm a fan of young adult authors and this is now the 2nd book I've read by her and I've really enjoyed both of them.
On my commute to and from work I listen to audiobooks and am currently listening to This Charming Man by Marian Keyes. I didn't love it at first, but have now gotten sucked into the story.

@Caly: I loved What Alice Forgot. Very It's a wonderful life. Kinda shook me. Liane Moriarty is blowing up! Her other novels are not that good though. Not a lot of depth to say the least.

Enclave by Ann Aguirre - it was recommended to me on GoodReads. It's pretty interesting so far.

@pachamama: so good! I've read most of her others and while good, What Alice Forgot is definitely my favorite!

@pachamama: @caly: What Alice Forgot reminded me why I should always read the Epilogue! I actually was most moved by that part of the book!
And there's a quote in the book that I actually sent DH. He's not very emo but he really liked it too. It really resonated with me:
"She had always thought that exquisitely happy time at the beginning of her relationship was the ultimate, the feeling they'd always be trying to replicate, to get back, but now she realized that was wrong. That was like comparing sparkling mineral water to French champagne. Early love is exciting and exhilarating. It's light and bubbly. Anyone can love like that. But love after children,...,after you've hurt each other and forgiven each other, bored each other and surprised each other, after you've seen the worst and the best - well, that sort of love is ineffable. It deserves its own word."

@Caly: I'm so torn between Alice and Big Little Lies. I read the book before it became so huge and I loved the twist!

@Bao: I just finished the Throne of Glass series by S. J. Maas on the heels of the Court of Thorns and Roses series. I liked CoTR better but ended up getting pretty into the Throne series, too, if you haven't read them yet.
