I'm just diving back into Divergent! I got it from the library several weeks ago but had to return it and only made it to page 60. So I ended up getting it for my birthday but I'm just now reading it again, I hope it's good!
What are you reading?

Punished by rewards. I started it last year but didn't finish it so I'm retreading it now.

@Bao: I started Divergent and need to find time to go back again. I rarely ever read fiction so it's a stretch for me. I guess I'll read some more (one year later) if you report back that you love it.
Oh and I'm reading some infant-3rd grade child development handbook I found on the net this morning.

Yay or nay on Divergent?! Thinking about it..
I'm reading Fall of Giants... Just finished Dark Places (Gillian flynn) and loved it - maybe more than Gone Girl.

Something Blue by Emily Griffin - super corny chic lit I got sucked into...

I heard good things about Divergent. It's on my list!
I'm about to start "The Paris Wife" by Paula McLain.

I loved Divergent! Right now I'm reading Shadow of a Giant by Orson Scott Card - I started on Ender's Game (soon to be released as a film) and have become a little addicted! There's the Ender series of five books and then the Shadow series of five books and I am onto book 9 in 3 weeks!

The Light Between Oceans by M.L.Stedman. I'm not too far into it, but it is good so far.

Cat in the hat, Harold and the purple crayon, and I will never not ever eat a tomato. Over and over.

Just finished Love Anthony by Lisa Genova. Great story - made me sob in parts (am I hormonal? Maybe). Desperately waiting for September's wave of book releases - there are a ton coming that I want to read, including the final book in the Divergent trilogy (so good!)

@redsmarties: you read Lisa Genova's other two books two right? Still Alice and Left Neglected? In my opinion, they were both better than Love Anthony, but that one was good too. Just wanted to make sure you've read her first two!
@mrbee: haha. All good reads. I'm sure after the 100th time though it gets a little tedious.
@hellobeeboston: I thought Divergent was a good, easy read. Like the Hunger Games. It is definitely not one of my fav books.
I am reading Defending Jacob by William Landay. Just started it yesterday but so far so good

Just read The Silver Star by Jeanette Walls
next on my list is Sarah's Key

@delight: yes!! I thought that both of the the other books were much better. But it was a quick read, and I liked it.

@redsmarties: love Anthony was still good! Just wanted to make sure you weren't missing out on the other two I loved them!
@babycanuck: Sarah's Key is great!

@hellobeeboston: Fall of Giants is so good!!!! I've been dying to read the next one, Winter of the World, but haven't bought it yet. I love Ken Follett so much!
I'm currently reading The Book Thief. It took a bit of getting used to the way it is written but I am completely sucked in now.

@Bao: I read Divergent two weeks ago in like two days. I loved it. I think I'll reread it once I'm done with my current book.
I'm reading Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson. Hilarious.

@SweetMamaM: I loved Ender's Game. I need to get back into that series.

@Ree723: Interesting about The Book Thief. I have it and have tried to read it like 3 times and couldn't get into it right away so I gave up. I may have to try again!

@mrs. 64: just finished it! Let me know what you think.
I'm reading Beautiful Ruins

Game of Thrones, the first book! I really SHOULD be reading neuroanatomy, pathology and orthopedic testing stuff for school...

@Ree723: @Running Elley: I hear people say all the time that the Book Thief is hard to get into. When I read it, I remember thinking "what the heck is this?" while reading the first few chapters. However, I kept reading (it was the only book I brought with me on a trip) and it is hands down the BEST book I've ever read!!

Loved Divergent! Can't wait for the third book and the movie. Currently reading the Birthmarked series, it's good so far, only on book two. Just finished Horns and World War Z both were very good.

Re-reading Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver. Slowly. I'm not as big a reader as I used to be

Divergent and The Book Thief are both such great books!!

A Clash of Kings. I'm going extra slow on this series, I need to speed it up if I want to be done before the new season.

@SweetMamaM: Excellent! I will probably read Fall of Giants again before I read Winter of the World to refresh my memory. Also, I read it at warp speed as I was completely sucked in and just wanted to know what happened, I am quite sure I missed a lot of the details!
@Running Elley: Definitely give it another go - once you get past the fact that it's written from the perspective of death, and get into the actual story, it is completely addictive!
@delight: So glad to hear that! According to my Kindle, I am 48% of the way through it so I am happy to hear it does not disappoint!

@Ree723: definitely do go for the reread... I didn't, and occasionally had to go back and "fact check" myself

@hellobeeboston: I loved Dark Places and Sharp Objects. Haven't read Gone Girl, would you recommend??
@SweetMamaM: The Ender series is one of my favourite series. I haven't read the Shadow ones yet, are they as good?
@Ree723: The Book Thief is one of those books I recommend to everyone. I enjoyed it a lot!
@Running Elley: like others have said, definitely give it another go! it took me several chapters to really get into it, but I really enjoyed it!
I've got a bunch of books i'm working on (I've never been good at reading one book at a time) 1Q84 by Murakami, The Passage by Justin Cronin, The Hare With The Amber Eyes by Edmund de Waal, The Art of Choosing by Sheena Iyengar and Quiet by Susan Cain
pear / 1743 posts
@Penny Lane: The Shadow ones made me love Peter and broke my heart at the same time. Have you seen the film trailer for Ender's Game? From the all-of-two lines that Ben Kingsley has in them, he seems to have a decent if somewhat broad Kiwi accent (as Mazer).
nectarine / 2163 posts
@SweetMamaM: the shadow series is definitely going on my list now! I make it a point not to watch previews before a movie so I didn't even know he was in it! surprising choice, I think!
