I've usually got a few books in the works.
Chicken soup for the teachers soul

Dark Tower IV
Merry Christmas, Alex Cross
The Journey
I like to keep my options open when I sit down to read

@Leialou: @septca: Looks like we all had the same idea! I just started it so hopefully I'll have it finished in a couple weeks. Everyone tells me I'm going to hate the ending, so I really hope that's not the case as I have enjoyed the series so far!

Finishing up the Book Thief and then on to Allegiant with a little of Ina May's Guide to Childbirth thrown in there.

Finally reading Allegiant after rereading the first two books in the series.
@LuLu Mom: @Leialou: @septca: I've only heard bad reviews since it came out. I'm preparing myself for disappointment.

@LuLu Mom: @Sweet T: I've got about a third of the book left.

About 2/3 of the way through A Dance With Dragons, then it's on to either A Visit From the Goon Squad or How to Win Friends and Influence People.

Looks like a lot of us are reading Allegiant! I just reread the first two books and I started Allegiant last night.

@LuLu Mom: @Leialou: @Sweet T: @Aria: To be honest, I am not *loving* Allegiant (I am only about 1/4 in), so I am okay with an annoying ending. I am kind of just reading it to get through. I hate that she switches narratives in the 3rd book - it's so confusing about the first two being in a different format!

Just read Joyland by Steven King, am reading Galore by Michael Crumney. Am on the waitlist at the library for Allegiant!
I got a kindle for christmas and am loving it with my prime membership.

@septca: I agree about the narratives. I usually love books that switch back and forth like this but I always forget since the first two didn't switch. I'm about a third of the way through. I like it but not as much as the other two. I really hope the ending surprises me in a good way but I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed.

I'm finishing up Game of Thrones Book 2, then I am going to start on The Lowland, then will read Allegiant.

@septca: totally agree about the narratives, why would you do that in a series??? It throws me off because I jsut assume it's Tris and then I remember it's Tobias!

@dagret: i thought galore was a really interesting book--some magical realism elements in an saga-type book. it went on for a *bit* longer than i wanted it to, but overall i liked it!
@Mrs. High Heels: just finished lowland! it was really good but kind of sad, in a carrying-around-hurt-for-most-of-your-life kind of sad, but i guess that's lahiri's style.
currently reading "the painted girls", and want to read "league of denial" next.

Ooh, another good one i just read was The Shining Girls. Verrrry creepy.
@edelweiss: i am really into it so far - i'm about 1/5 of the way through.

@edelweiss: that's what i expected from lahiri! i love her writing style though… she has such a way with words. have you read and the mountains echoed? it's by khaled hosseini, my other favorite author.

@Mrs. High Heels: i read a free sample and was so depressed (the sample was about the big monster taking away the most beloved son) that i couldn't bring myself to buy the book. but it was good? did you like it?

@DillonLion: Dark Tower as in the Stephen King series? One of my favorites, planning on rereading them this year!
Right now The Book Thief and I just read Divergent and am about to start the second one, the name of which is escaping me atm.

@Mamaof2: I love that book. I met the author a few times because I'm in the Alzheimer's field. She is a doll.
Book Thief right now, but have The Goldfinch and Daring Greatly next. I want to work in a parenting book somewhere in there.
