I'm reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I read it before but I am reading it again to share some of the concepts with some high school students I work with. Great book.
Full disclosure- I love reading trashy novels so it is with some surprise that I report a book that isn't about a time traveling, shape shifting alpha male from Scotland

@mrsjyw: I read Tell The Wolves I'm Home for my book club last winter. We all enjoyed it as a good character novel. The boys found it a little slow but the girls all liked it
I just started The First Man In Rome - historical fiction is my fav genre

I am reading Beggars in Spain by Nancy kress, scifI about a society where some people have no need for sleep which creates a stratified society and Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell , nonfiction about the real reasons people can achieve great things

My book club read The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty (I think?) last month but I didn't get a chance to read it, so that is next on my list!

@mrsjazz: i'm reading that right now! oh no.. now i'm curious what happens at the end… i've been really resisting the temptation to google.

A friend recommend "Luminarium" by Alex Shakar, so I'm reading that now. Next up is another novel, "Alif the Unseen"!
I usually read non fiction (or detective novels), so these are a change of pace for me...

@Mrs. High Heels: you will probably be pissed at the end! haha. everyone I know who read it was not happy with the ending. but you can't skip because you won't quite understand, so you have to just stick it out! haha! at least you were warned.

@mrsjazz: gaahh… now i feel the need to plow through the urge. that is so cryptic - what does it mean that if i don't read it all i won't understand??? if i don't get any sleep tonight trying to finish this book i know exactly who to blame!
