I hate when they don't apologize or try to rectify a situation! For the most part I've had good experiences with customer service!!
In stores I expect to be treated well too and will leave a store if an associate is rude.

I hate it when I get the "mmhmm. Yeah, mhmm" when I'm still talking. It seriously feels like they're not listening!

Automated menus, whether in place of a CS or as a first step to get through to one. I hate them with the burning passion of a thousand suns and more than once have yelled profanities at it (which often gets me put straight through to a real person, lol).

@FutureMrsMcK: YES! Me too!
I cannot stand when the automated menus ask me to speak my account number to them rather than being able to type it in. They never understand what I'm saying and I get routed to a live rep anyway. So frustrating!

@2PeasinaPod: Or when you have to type in your account number to bring up your account, and then type it in to verify it again, and then you're FINALLY on the phone with a real person you have to give it to them AGAIN! Makes me see red!

wwhen I hold on forever and they think they jump to conclusions and think they know what my issue is without letting me explain myself

In a store, when they won't leave me alone! I understand that they're supposed to help, and it helps prevent shoplifting, but I will leave a store even if I need something if they're too pushy or won't leave me alone after one "anything I can help you with."
On the phone, not adequately compensating me for my time. I once spent over 10 hours over the course of about a week on the phone trying to fix a problem with one of my online games (which, btw, I wound up fixing on my own because they were useless). In the end, they offered me in-game money worth about $2. And it's not like it was even real money that cost them anything!

When the don't apologize for their mistake. This is somewhat unrelated but a girl helping me in a baby boutique was wearing booty shorts and low cut top and it was so inappropriate! Wear normal clothes! We are not at the beach.

When they have to keep transferring you to different people to figure out who can help you. So frustrating!

When they can barely speak the language I request! It is very hard to communicate!

I hate when they are very obviously reading from a script. "Thank you for your concern about the .... we understand that" arrrgh, just tell me what the issue is and how you all are aiming to resolve it!!!

@Torchwood: Destination maternity does this! They stalk me all around the store

@Mrsbells: I'll be sure and avoid them if there's one near me! I won't go to stores that do that!

I hate when reps are not empowered to do anything, even if its common sense. I also hate when I send an email to customer service asking a question and I get a canned response that doesn't answer my question.

@2PeasinaPod: I hate when I'm asked to input my account number durin the auto prompt then the CSR asks me for my account number!
Why did I have to waste my time inputting all those numbers?!
