It's nice here outside and I need ideas...we do a lot of steak and fish/veggies...the occasionally sausage wraps, but looking for new stuff!

I was JUST going to ask the same thing We just bought our first grill this weekend. We have made chicken and steaks so far, but we need some ideas too. Great thread!

K..jealous that it is nice out where you live...ugh.
I like to grill:
lamp chops, zucchini, corn on the cob ....chicken and beefs obviously? like burgers and kabobs.
And um, let's be real: hotdogs! I like 'em grilled to death, like almost burnt.

I don't like onions, but my father LOVES to grill onions on the grill. He cuts them like a blooming onion and puts butter in the middle and then wraps it up in a foil. When we were growing up, people RAVED about them at cookouts.
We are pretty boring with our grill. We usually just do steaks, burgers, asparagus, etc.

@rahlyrah: say what?! That sounds SO good, but I like onions...I wonder if I could cut it like that though, I'm not talented with a knife. So, just butter, no other seasonings?

@MrsH: How do you do the peaches? I've never heard of that before, sounds yummy!

@Bao: I just called him. He said the easiest way is to use an apple corer (if you have one) and core it about half way down. If not, he said you can just cut slits in the onion (again, only half way down) and use your fingers to pull it apart a little bit. He said he used butter and a beef bouillon cube, wrapped in foil, and grilled.

@rahlyrah: oh my gosh, yum! I am definitely going try that, thank you

@Bao: cut in half, take out pit, brush the cut sides with some butter and grill cut sides down. You can also do some balsamic or honey or all kinds of stuff.

@Bao: we usually make a bourbon caramel to put on them. Butter, brown sugar, and bourbon

Love summer squash on the grill. It gets so sweet so it really doesn't need any other seasoning except a little salt and olive oil.
Onions, mushrooms, zucchini, peppers, meats, etc.
I also sometimes make a grilled strawberry shortcake - grill the cake and then the strawberries up really quickly (I put them on a little foil tray if they are super juicy and ripe)

@yoursilverlining: That strawberry shortcake on the grill idea sounds amazing!
We usually do chicken, hot dogs, pork chops and steak when I can afford it.
