She loves scrambled eggs, sausage links, strawberries, raspberries and pancakes for breakfast!

Muffins, scones, scrambled eggs, fruit, pancakes or waffles, bagel, sausage links, toast, etc. Basically, anything that can be cut up really small. We've also added Plum Organics Morning Mashups to the rotation. It is an oatmeal that my son loves.

LO is 20 months. I usually give him a protein and a fruit, and then a carb if I'm feeling lazy
Proteins:
- Sausage or meatball
- Cold cuts
- Yogurt or cottage cheese
- Nut butter (almond or peanut) on bread or wrap or fruit
Fruit:
- Banana, apple, grape, pear, berries... whatever
- Prune (LO has at least one a day, often two)
Carbs:
- Whole grain waffle, wheat bread, whole wheat tortilla/wrap
Also, sometimes I'll throw some fruit and tofu and yogurt into the blender and make him a smoothie and let him drink it with a straw.
Finally, while these are sort of the "breakfast-y" foods that we do often with LO, he doesn't care if we give him "non-traditionally-breakfast-y" foods, so he often ends up with beans, olives, peas, carrots, etc.
I think this morning LO had some Asian pear, prunes, carrot chips, peanuts, and dried green beans.

DS just ate a whole banana for breakfast! And DD ate waffles with mixed berries. They also like fruit smoothies, yogurt with granola, pancakes with fruit, applesauce, eggs, and ehnglish muffins.

DS's favorite is oatmeal with honey and an egg mixed in. I make it in advance and freeze it. DD likes yogurt.

Right now, I just give her what's easy for me and it's either scrambled eggs or french toast (modified from my special cinnamon sugar french toast - yum!). If we have fruit on hand, I give her whatever we have.
Guess I'm looking for some more ideas, too!

BACON. My son loves his bacon. We also do cereal with freeze dried fruit and sunflower seeds. We will do leftovers too.
Yogurt with fruit.

We used to do scrambled eggs, a banana, a waffle, and a yogurt every morning! (he's a big breakfast eater.)
Now we vary it up a little, but he still gets his eggs and yogurt every morning.

I'm subscribing bc I need more ideas for breakfast foods. I pretty much make her the same breakfast everyday:
Scrambled egg, oatmeal, English muffin and some fruit. Some days she eats all her egg and toast, other days she eats all her oatmeal and egg...and she eats a ton of fruit so I give it to her at the end of the meal - strawberries, cantaloupe, banana

Every morning she has a gluten free pancake made with banana and some other fruit (peach/apple/pear) and two pieces of a zucchini/carrot/parsnip frittata that I batch cook and freeze. If we have any sausage I'll give her some of that too.

@prettylizy: I would love to get your recipe for the frittata please!!! Sounds perfect for fall/winter! I would really appreciate it

@sandy: I grate 2 or 3 carrots, 2-3 parsnips and 2 zucchinis and put them in a frying pan with a little butter (or oil or whatever you use) and saute that mixture until it's softened down. Let that cool a bit (you don't want to scramble your eggs when you mix it together). I whisk up 6-8 eggs then put the veggie mixture in a rectangular casserole dish. Pour the egg over top and mix it in with the veg. Bake at 350 for 10-30 minutes until it sets up and is firm. Let it cool, and cut into squares. I freeze them in the squares and pull out one or two every morning for her.

@prettylizy: that sounds so delicious! I love that you can cook a big batch to freeze and reheat in the morning. Thanks so much!
I would also love to get your gluten free pancake recipe...or do you buy a mix somewhere? I want to give LO some more variety and I am really trying to limit carbs (she is a fruit and carb monster though).

scrambled eggs, bananas, and fruit smoothie. that's all she's had so far.
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
@sandy: no problem I'm a monster in the morning so I have to have food precooked and ready to go otherwise it's a disaster. My LO is the same way, loves her carbs so the frittata was my way of putting some veggies and protein into the routine. FYI, she didn't love it right away, it took about a week for her to warm up to it, but now she scarfs it down.
For the pancakes, I sort of improvised my own recipe. I start with 2 ripe bananas and mash them up, followed by whatever other fruit is a getting too ripe diced up. I mix in a couple of eggs, and I use Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Pancake mix and mix in half a bag. Then I add a little of whatever milk I have in the fridge (rice, flax, coconut) and I whip it up with my immersion blender. It's not very scientific, I add more mix or milk to get the right consistency and make a ton of pancakes in single service sizes and then freeze them for daily use

@prettylizy: thanks for the great recipes and tips! I am so excited to try out the gluten free pancakes :). I am definitely going to make a bunch and freeze them like you do.
Have you tried baking the pankcakes and then cutting them in squares? I saw a pancake recipe on Pinterest and thought was a great idea for when you want to serve pankcakes for a large group and don't have a giant griddle.
Thanks again...you are the best!
