Seems like people react strongly to it, whether out of love or hate. I almost never go and their ground beef grosses me out, but I spent $3 on lunch there today and am STUFFED! That rarely happens these days, especially for 3 bucks. The snack wrap commercial sucked me in--I recommend the potato one!

Meh. I rarely eat there, and when I do I just get a taco w/ meat and sometimes cheese. It's good, but usually isn't my top pick for a quick lunch.

Hehe. I went through a 10-year "phase" where i was ADDICTED to Taco Bell (although even then, never ate the "beef".. always got bean tacos or bean burritos). I ate there once a year or two ago and it was GROSS!!! I don't know if I've change or it has, but it was so disappointing

@tororojo: I don't like their ground beef at all but I like their chicken quesadillas and crispy potato soft tacos.

As a vegetarian, this is one of the few fast food places that has options for me. I love it! But I'm also pretty health conscious so I never really eat junk. A 7-layer burrito with a side of chips is a splurge.

I have to admit that it is one of my guilty pleasures! There is one really close to my workplace and when I don't bring my lunch, it's quite tempting! I like their Fresco chicken soft tacos...and I don't feel like it's the WORST fast food decision I could make
Also I love Diet Mt. Dew & living in the South it's one of the few places that has Pepsi products (Coke is everywhere!).

Love it (but hate that I love it)...I haven't been there in over a year but when I was pregnant I went at least once a month. I love their hot sauce so much!

@tororojo: Haha! I actually just did a search for the nearest Taco Bell to here and it's literally 8 miles away in the opposite direction from my house into downtown with "heavy traffic" per googlemaps. DAMN.

@tororojo: I craved taco bell a few times while pregnant too! the weirdest thing was - I craved a few fast food things that normally I hate hate hateeeee. like BK. I actually gave it once and ate BK and was throwing up all night. ugh.

I LOVE Taco Bell! My brother often brings it for lunch when he comes over for a visit and I always look forward to it!
Hubs used to think he hated Taco Bell and then my brother introduced him to the half pound potato burrito and now he's officially a fan!

@Mrs. Pen: I'm a Mickey D's girl and it never even occurs to me to go to BK! That's a bummer that it made you sick, but a sure way to make sure you don't go back!
Today I didn't crave it as much as I had $3 in quarters and was trying to figure out where to get the most bang for my buck! (I hate when I ALMOST have enough cash and then have to charge something instead...)

@tororojo: You know what's funny? I was even telling @blackbird this. I did pick up some store brand frozen bean and cheese burritos at the store a couple of weeks ago that were like $5 for 8 burritos and the list of ingredients was 50 words long. But they tasted exactly like TB burritos so I ate them every day for a week! Maybe that's what I need to do... the store is walking distance from my office...

@JoJoGirl: Yums, that sounds better than sitting in traffic for fast food! I think their sauce is really distinctive--I always hoard fast food sauces and put them on things at home to enhance the experience. Can't beat $5 for 8 burritos!

Interestingly enough, I ate at taco bell a couple months ago and the paper sheet that is on their tray mentioned how the ground beef is 100% ground beef, no fillers, no wheat, no extras, just like you'd buy in the stores. So if that's not the case, why is it so gross?
I'm kind of meh about most fast food in general. It always bloats me up and is never very filling and is far too many calories for what it's worth.

@blackbird: WHAT? really? i'd expect it would be mcdonald's-grade ground beef, all pink stuff just to meet the requirement to be called beef (like 65% actual beef?). That's fascinating.

@jojogirl, no seriously. I remember reading it and being surprised. BUT it's not 100% beef:
OK the Taco Bell website says: "Our seasoned beef recipe consists of 88% Premium Beef and 12% Signature Recipe."
The 12% consists of: "Many of them are items you might use at home such as salt, peppers, and spices. Ingredients like oats and sodium phosphates help make sure the texture is right."
Maybe the paper was saying the items are all 100% approved or something. I do remember it saying "all items you'd find in your grocery store" like it was no big deal.

@blackbird: I'm not sure I've ever seen "sodium phosphate" in a grocery store, hehe. Plus the beef I buy at the store is perfectly textured so I don't know what they're doing to it! Oh Taco Bell, your marketing department is brilliant.

haha it is. I'm sure they use a crappy beef whereas I always buy ground sirloin.
sodium phosphate is in things like soda or foods to increase shelf life...so maybe by "it's at the grocery store", they mean it's contained in other foods? lol.
the sheet totally made it sound like, "we use the same beef you buy at the store!" Though.
I wish they delivered..
