I need some recommendations for apps that are good for toddlers (LO is 2). She's really into playing on our phones but has a hard time understanding a lot of the apps. I'd prefer ones that are free but low cost is ok too.
What're your LO's favorite apps?

We like all of the Endless Reader/Endless Numbers etc apps. They cost a bit but they are worth the money. The Bees have featured them on the blog several times.

YouTube is #1 for my two-year-old right now. He also likes:
Elmo app with letters and numbers (forgetting the name) - we have the free versions
We have Tiggly which he sometimes really likes - we bought a box, it comes with shapes or you can just tap. It's pretty cute.
Sprout is a fave - he likes the music section.
And his favorite thig is to watch videos of himself we have taken, haha.

If you can spring for it, we do a yearly subscription to abcmouse. They have an app that I find my 2 1/2 y/o has an easier time on than on the computer, she has a hard time with the comp mouse.

@Bao: it's kind of a silly app but it's free and my lo loves it. Peekaboo HD - Farm. I think she likes it because it's easy and she's not great at figuring out how to make apps work yet. We don't do a lot of phone time.

L will be 2 in Jan and has several favorite apps. I need to start investing in some more educational ones though, most of these are just for entertainment.
Storybots and ABCMouse are both free and have AWESOME videos of each letter of the alphabet (thanks photojane for these ones - L is obsessed!!). I'm often singing the songs in my head at work
There are 2 free (Lite) Elmo apps, a number and an alphabet one. She's started getting into those. I haven't played around with them too much, but it looks like we only get ABC and 123 free, I'd have to pay for the rest of the letters and numbers? Regardless, the limited content still entertains her
She loves ALL the Fisher Price apps (all free)
I have 'Where's My Water' (I think?) for my nephew - it's a more complicated game that I even enjoy. You have to strategically clear a path for water to get to an alligator so he can have a bath. She thinks it's hilarious. She definitely doesn't have the understanding yet, but she's slowly learning what she has to do
There's a free Disney app where she can watch one episode of several shows (Mickey Mouse and Sofia are 2 of them, she doesn't care for the others). It's only 1 episode at a time but they change the episode every week or two.

We love the endless series and ABC mouse (music alphabet) too. I scored endless alphabet free through starbucks.
DD loves rosetta stone some are free and some you can pay for them.

Agreeing with Endless ABC - photojane & birdofafeather talked me into it and omg. Best thing ever. She will sit and play if I need to shower, take 5, etc. And she's learned so much already from it!

Fisher price is still used daily at my house (he's 3 1/2). The endless apps are great. Two others (cost something but I got them both on days they were free) where alien buddies (he could do the color matching) and jelly toon Bobos birthday. The second one was awesome and he could play all the games except for one.

PBS also has an app where you can watch epsiodes of several different shows. My LO is almost 2 and he loves getting to "pick what show to watch"! We also have the Disney one, as well as all the Fisher Price ones. He also really likes a couple animal sound/name apps - there is one that has a "quiz" section and shows 3 pictures and plays the sound and you LO has to pick the right picture. He really has fun with that one too.

My daughter is obsessed with a couple sorting apps, I think they might just be called Sorting and Sorting 2, they're awesome. One has a panda as the icon if that helps? Also, she loves all the Sago Mini apps.
