I'm in the mood to read...something I used to do all the time but I haven't read a book for pleasure since Christmas! So, what are you reading?

The Secret Keeper for my book club. I need to hurry up because I'm less than half-way done and our meeting is on Monday.

I just finished Americanah and loved it! It's written by a Nigerian author and takes place both in Nigeria and the U.S. It has a lot to do with race, but also a love story. And it's a quick read even though it's not super short.

The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie
It's only meh. The last, about, 5 books that I've read have been completely underwhelming. I need a REALLY good book after this one.

I just finished The Red Tent. It's probably my favorite book I've ever read.

@Ra: Ooooh! I've heard good things about that from other people too. I will add it to my to-read list.

@Ra: I read this a while back. I'd like to read it again!
I'm reading What Alice Forgot (Liane Moriarty) right now after reading Big Little Lies and liked it. They are fun books - mommy-centered kinda.
I just finished All the Light We Cannot See before this one and really enjoyed it.

Just finished Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. Now I'm working on A God in Ruins which is a companion boo by the same author. I highly recommend both!

@hellobeeboston: I liked those Lianne Moriarty books too.
I'm reading a mystery series. It's engaging but not the best writing. It's the Sarah Woods mysteries.

I'm in the middle of The Luckiest Girl Alive. It's been compared a lot to Gone Girl and The Girl On the Train, which makes sense as I'm reading it. I also recently read The Secret Life of Violet Grant, which was good. And I agree with the Liane Moriarty recs above! Also, Me Before You was very good, but keep tissues handy, haha.

@hellobeeboston: I read "Three Wishes" by that author last month. Enjoyable read!

I just read Glitter and Glue by Kelly Corrigan (great easy summer read), about to finish The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro. Next up is Thrive by Arianna Huffington for my book club.

@MrsSCB: I enjoyed Me Before You too! I work in health care so some of the (inaccurate) health related stuff was a bit distracting for me, but still a good story! I liked The Girl On the Train as well.
@hellobeeboston: oooh I really want to read What Alice Forgot and All the Light We Cannot See!

Recently finished: The Rosie Effect (loved, sequel to The Rosie Project), The Job (Janet Evanovich & Lee Goldberg--love this series for pure fun), Landline (Rainbow Rowell, fun and kinda sappy in a good way).

Currently reading The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert. (Hated Eat, Pray, Love but trying out her novel.)
Just finished The Small Backs of Children by Lidia Yuknavitch on my Kindle app and rereading in hard copy because I really enjoyed it and want to actually hold the book in my hands and read.
Just finished Ta-nehasi Coates' book Between the World and Me. Great, important book by an important writer.
I read a lot!

@Ra: @.twist.: @Happygal: I'm reading her most recent book, The Boston Girl! Enjoying it - although not as much as I enjoyed The Red Tent...
