I've just started putting LO into the Beco Gemini for short periods of time to get him used to it. He doesn't like it when I sit, or even stand still. So I just walk back and forth around our small condo. Right now I have the laptop on my kitchen counter so I can stand and type, but also sway back and forth while wearing him, haha.
Can you actually get things done while baby wearing??

E was a crabass last night so i threw her in the ergo while I did dishes and laundry. At 29 weeks pregnant 
She was good for about...20 min? It's all I needed!

Absolutely! I wear her when she's crabby and wants to be held (like when I'm cooking dinner), when we're walking the dog (I've nursed her in the Ergo too), in the store, while vacuuming, and tons of other things.

LO doesn't really like being worn at home much but she is good on my back for like 10-15 min if I need to cook something or vacuum while she is awake (basically the only way to make that happen because she is into EVERYTHING).

@Meridian: same here! I have been using my tula for at least 4 weeks on my 8 week old, but he pretty much falls asleep in it only when I am moving! I am thinking when he starts looking around more/for longer periods of time, I'll be able to do a bit more. Even cooking isn't enough movement, and stuff like cleaning is really hard unless it requires no up and down movement. I guess we both still need to get a little more used to it! I just bought a ring sling cause I am hoping that's a little more like the feeling of being held, even though the tula is more comfortable for longer amounts of time.

It depends on her mood. If I wear her on my back, I can get laundry done. But I always have to stand when I wear her or she gets angry.

@namaste: Yep! I want a shirt that says: "Babywearing, how shit gets done!" -- I don't think I could have gotten through the first year without my carrier.

When I put the baby in the Solly wrap I turn on Pandora and have a "dance party" with my 2 year old. The movement puts the baby to sleep immediately and my toddler has fun dancing around so win win.
