Here none. When I lived in Nola we a lot come into the club I worked at...notably Jude Law (awesome tipper), Steve-o from Jackass (bad tipper and he wanted to stay past closing and dance on stage with the girls...and alone...) and James Gandolfini.

I've also met both Presidents Clinton and Obama and botg Presidents Bush (President Bushes?)

I went to college in New Orleans, and I met T.R. Knight, Peter Dinklage, and Vince Vaughn. But never ran into them more than once.

Nobody here...jealous of those of you that do!

When I lived in NY, I saw Jon Stewart a couple times. Also saw Jennifer Lopez.

I used to see Ben Affleck and Eliza Dushku from time to time, their families live near me and Ben's mom also has a summer house down the beach from my parents' summer home.

I met George Bush Sr. working with the photographers at the Final Four last year. The secret service guys stopped me from walking by because he was getting up to leave. He saw me and beckoned me to him though. He told me he had been watching me and that I was beautiful. I remember thinking he's really tall! We posed for a picture but I never got a copy.

This doesn't compare at all, but Billy Beane, Kristi Yamaguchi, and a bunch of the Giants, A's, 49ers and Raiders are customers where I work. Unfortunately they use the route part of our service and I work in one of the stores so I never actually see them.

@Mrs. Jacks: I need to stalk that place now!

I have met Julianne Hough several times but that's all. I've touched billy Joel's hand and bum but that was a concert.

I used to work next door to Much Music (Canadian MTV) and I'd see random celebs. The big ones like Janet Jackson always closed down the street. Sometimes there would be minor celebs at the Starbucks across the street because they were coming for an interview or something.

My friends used to see Tom Skeritt at the Starbucks near their home all the time. He was one of the insteuctors in Top Gun.

For a while, Bruce Willis was renting an apt on the Upper West Side while shooting a movie and I spotted him three different times, each one looking douchier than the last....
Have also seen Liev Schrieber (married to Naomi Watts) several times biking...
I think those are the only recurring spottings I've had, apparently Kevin Bacon lives in the building next door to where I work and I am DYING to catch him!

  13. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

DH works in a building that they use a lot for filming movies, so he's seen Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Mel Gibson, Ben Affleck, Jon Hamm, and more recently Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.

I live in Michigan, so the only one I've ever seen (multiple times) is Michael Moore at the film festival in Traverse City.

A bunch of my friends know Amy Smart and Carter Oosterhouse who have connections to that area as well.

I have no situational awareness according to my husband so even after living in NYC all my life I've never spotted a celebrity!

No one at all. I don't even run into my neighbors on a regular basis! Back in San Diego, I'd occasionally see celebs at the clubs whenever there's a function in town. But no one regular ... except for Mario Lopez ice-skating with his gf at UTC, but that was way back in the day.

  20. knittylady

@rachiecakes: Their parents live near me too! Sounds like we're neighbors!

Also they shut down my street starting about 4 houses down from mine to film a movie a few weeks ago.... I didn't see anyone and am wondering if it's that Sandra Bullock movie....

Nope Not too many in the Midwest. When I was an intern for a Senator in DC I use to love passing big wigs in the hallways. My favorites include; Senator Obama, Senator Mccain, Senator Lieberman, Senator Byrd and Margaret Thatcher!

@mrbee: @Mrs. Bee: I hear Patrick Stewart recently moved to Park Slope...I hope you see him (and covertly snap a photo)! I love him so much.

When I lived in NYC, I lived just around the corner from David Bowie and Iman, so I used to see them every once in a while-- Iman more so, and mostly their daughter with the nanny. David was always the best sighting. I saw a good handful of celebs in my neighborhood there but rarely more than once. I actually met America Ferrera once-- like we talked and everything. That was awesome (this was when Ugly Betty was at its peak).
I've randomly seen Tim Duncan 3 times, once in the airport, and twice in different restaurants. Basketball players are easier to spot since they are SO tall.
Since moving out of NYC I don't think I've really seen many. I think Giselle and Tom Brady's city place isn't that far from me but I never saw them. I'm pretty sure I'd spot them if I did!

    @Foodnerd81: What did America say?

  25. Foodnerd81

    wonderful cherry / 21504 posts

@mrbee: Just small talk. It was funny, our mutual acquaintance introduced me to her, but never actually said her name. I think the little girls we were with had these Spanish flashcards and she told me she didn't speak Spanish or know the words or something, which surprised me because apparently I thought she WAS Ugly Betty and Betty's dad spoke Spanish. I was pleased with how normal I acted even as I freaked out on the inside. Oh and I did get introduced to her boyfriend (Ryan, I think?) who she married a couple of years later.

I see celebrities pretty frequently, but I don't think I've ever seen the same one twice. I hear about celebs who live in my neighborhood but the only one I've actually seen in person is Robin Williams.

It's MUCH more likely that I"ll see a Celeb at a restaurant. Walking down teh street there's little chance I would ever notice one.

Not many celebrities in Denver. I saw Shannon Sharpe at the mall with my mom. He had a really sour face on so we just gawked at a distance (it was a day after the Broncos lost pretty badly).

My sister got hit on by Barry Bonds at a restaurant she was working. My mom shook Clinton's hand when he was running for president. She was also a translator for one of the Japanese gov't members (it was a minister of something) when the G8 summit was in Denver.

Man! I've been living in Boston for over 10 years and have never once spotted a celebrity here. And I go to NYC at least once or twice a year and never seen one there either. My only spottings were last year in LA when I saw Neve Campbell in line getting breakfast at a cafe where I was eating, then Henry Winkler was directly across from me at the next table over for an entire 2 hrs dinner with his family (which was awesome), and Rob Reiner came into the restaurant as me and the Fonz were finishing up our meals. But that's it!

ETA: Nope, I lied - totally saw Woody Allen and Soon-Yi crossing the street the last time I was in NYC. He looked *old*.

@anonysquire: Julianne Hough used to be roommates with a close friend of mine!

I never see any on a regular basis, but I stood behind Tim Allen in line at Starbucks once.

@mrbee: I see Michelle Williams around Brooklyn a lot! And for some reason I have seen Philip Seymour Hoffman a bunch of times in both Boston and NY, and, even more bizarre, I see Kathryn Erbe (from Law & Order: Criminal Intent) all. the. damn. time. I've seen her in NY a bunch and so has my husband, and then I was visiting a friend in DC last year and walked through a whole museum exhibit at the same pace as her. She looked at all the art very thoughtfully, for the record!

@mjane: Awesome!! Did you see her guest star on SVU recently?! She's still fightin' fictional crime, god bless her.
