I'm ver much a neutral gal when it comes to decorating, I'm 100% afraid of bold colors in my house! Give me neutrals with a pillow for a pop of color and I'm happy
Do you like bold or neutral colors for your home?

Neutral. But I am at least trying to incorporate some blueish grays and not just beige.

We have mostly neutral but I'd love to change that! Decorating has never been my forte so I guess maybe one day we'll have more color?..

Neutral pieces with pops of bold color. I especially love decorating with shades of mint, aqua, and mustard yellow. I tend to switch out accent pillows, depending on the season.

@runsyellowlites: yeah, I'm not great at it. I LOVE the looks of shabby/country/chic but I couldn't do it in MY house bc I would be trying to fix the furniture that's supposed to look dented and warped
@T.H.O.U.: pretty much if it doesn't come as a package deal from gordmans or target, I can't piece things together.
We are closing in 3 weeks(!!!!!) so until then I'll be obsessing over color choices....

@deerylou: oh I like the idea of seasonal pillows! What are your colors that stay year round (furniture/walls)?

@babyjmama: Most of our furniture is various shades of dark brown. Our coffee table and bedroom furniture are white. We are renting, and have yet to trouble ourselves painting the (off white) walls. Can't wait to own for this very purpose.

@sorrycharlie: oooOOOOooo I like that combo too!
@deerylou: we will have to buy new living room furniture so I'm trying to decide what to get. Our old stuff (now basement family room) is beige and extra boring. I want something a little 'nicer' but we will be starting totally from scratch, EVERY wall will be getting painted!

I love color...but DH doesn't, so I have to be creative at being bold, lol.

Colors on the walls and accessories but neutral floors and furniture. I subscribe to House Beautiful and drool over all the pretty colors. I dream of the day when I am no longer a renter and can slap some paint on the wall. I am sure one day my house will look like the valspar chameleon threw up all over it.
Congrats on buying a new home! I hope you have a blast decorating.

@Richelle: thanks!! LOL the valspar chameleon comment is the best! I wish I were more bold, it's just not in the cards for this girl.
I'll start a thread w/my before&after pics later when we get in!

I have mostly neutral in my house but my mom came up with the idea of a bold accent wall in the kitchen and I love it. And the nursery is bold too.

All my walls are white and I like I that way. Love bold accessories though (pillows, rug, etc)

I love bolds, DH loves neutrals. We compromise by having neutral paint and bold upholstery and linens.

Bold. All of our walls are colors. Our trim outside is bright yellow and green, and our kitchen cabinets are even painted yellow and green.

I like having a neutral base (white walls, tan/grey/white/natural wood furniture) and adding bright colors - accent chairs/pillows, art work, rugs

our walls are white, but only because we rent & can't paint. i like color, but organic shades- does that make sense? we have a lot of color & pattern on our stuff, but they're more natural shades, lots of burnt orange and greens.

I love bold colors and graphic, high-contrast patterns! Im so not a beige and white kind of girl.
DH is into earth tones.

@artbee: no way! I bet it is SO beautiful, I just love when people can do that...I just can't haha!
@luckypenny: yup, very much how I roll!!
So I found this set, the first that's less than $2000 and that I like (and isn't HUGE, the space will be somewhat narrow). I kind of like the idea of this with like green topiary and lemon yellow...?
