I attended camp for many summers, but it was just a day camp. I got to go home and sleep in my own bed (and take a SHOWER in a private bathroom). During the day we would go to various places around the city like zoos, amusement parks, pools, etc. It was a blast!

Mostly just hanging out with friends - especially friends who had pools!
There are lots of lakes in MN so we went to the beach a lot. Summer camps in Junior High and playing outside with my brothers - bike rides, forts, swimming, climbing trees, exploring etc... we had active imaginations and loved playing "house" until we were about 10! -
My family and I went on road trips across Canada. Usually we went to eastern Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and P.E.I.) and camped along the way!

I went to a bible camp for a few weeks, spent a lot of time at my cousins' house (they lived about a mile away) and when I was a little older my stepsister and I had season passes to Splashtown and my stepmom would drop us off there most days. We also spent a lot of time playing outside with the neighborhood kids. Tree tag, flash light tag, bike riding, etc.

Between elementary school and middle school: Library camps, swim team, and various sports.
HS: educational camps. some were where I spent the evenings on campus, others were where my parents had to drop me off and pick me up daily.

Mostly just played outside with other neighbor kids.

I did camps. I did a theater camp and a fun and fitness camp.

Oh summer vacation as a teenager . . . how I miss you! Because both my parents were teachers we traveled a lot during the summer - nothing glamerous, but always good times. I went to sleepaway camps (computer camp was my fav - how nerdy is that?!?), and hung out with my friends. I also worked a part-time office job for the county - boring, but great money.

Before my grandma died when I was 8, I would spend a week or two with. I was always in day camps, many of which had an academic focus typically science and math. My dad would assign me articles to read and I would have to write a report on it.
