people have been asking me, but I don't know what to say. he already has a ton of books and toys! he needs some more cloth diapers but I imagine that people would think that would be a boring/odd gift but heck I would love it! lol

I would always say you don't have to. But if they insist I will direct them to her Amazon list. We hardly buy anything for her so there are/were tons of things she needed even non toy wise.

I always say books. Always. We have shelves upon shelves full, but I am a firm believer that you can never have enough! Except for Sandra Boynton's "The Going to Bed Book." We have five copies now. So, yes, that is probably enough.
I say just ask for the cloth diapers if that's really what you want and need! Most people are pretty understanding, and the ones that don't listen probably had their own gift idea to begin with and would have gone with that regardless.

I usually say Amazon.com or a donation in his name. We did the Peter Pan Childrens fund for his 1st birthday. So no gifts, just money to donate to his cousin's cancer hospital.

I actually had an amazing wish list and if people asked I'd send it to them! As a result we mostly received items we all love.

We asked for a kid pool, a swim float and pajamas. Most people just bought whatever they wanted

Books. I hate getting more toys. For christmas DH's aunt signed up DS for a kiddie magazine that we get one a month and it is great. He loves the stories and every other month it comes with a CD of the stories, which he listens to constantly.

@Mrs. Twine: I have received at least 4 copies of her "Moo Baa La La" book. I started giving away the extras to other pregnant friends.

@Mui831; What IS it about Sandra Boynton? I mean, I like her, but... gaaaaaah! Maybe we can swap, because we never got that one
Gifting them is a great idea. We donated a copy to our local library because they are pretty bare for board books.

I say, Oh you don't need to get anything!! Thank you!! Just come. But I do keep an Amazon list so I should direct them there in the future.

The only person that asked was my brother so I told him and the Step2 push car arrived the next day.
