She was in her diaper and a hospital tee shirt the first day. The second day, I put her in the clothes we brought with us.

LO was in NICU.. So day 9 was the first time we could put him on clothes.. So I got him this adorable monkey footed PJ that was size preemie but huge on him. We are saving it in his memory book

Just a diaper or the kimono shirts. When he was sleeping he was swaddled, when he was with me or DH he was doing skin to skin with a blanket over him.

I was terrified enough dressing him to leave the hospital!

She wore the little mini hospital gown for the first few days because she had a massive canula in her hand and it was hard to dress her. Mostly, she was just in a diaper and swaddled up.

My baby was in the nicu for a week, so at first she was just in a diaper and swaddled. After a few days they put her in a onesie, and I remember being pissed that they'd put her in her first clothing and not me. I told them I'd brought stuff, but they said that they don't clean it, so better to just let them use their stuff.

@MegWag: I'm so glad you said that!! I was wondering what "hospital t shirts" were and why I'd never heard of them!!! So I need to take sleepers and blankets with me, right? And hats, mittens and socks?

just in a diaper and swaddle blankets, most of the time he needed to be in a special lighted suit for his jaundice though.

Same as you - diaper with the hospital provided kimono shirt and kept him swaddled. We changed him into a onesie and sleeper when we finally came home.

Hospital provided kimono style T shirt & hospital swaddle blanket. I brought a couple options for going home outfits but that was it. I felt a little bad when I started to notice that people bring their own clothes to the hospital but y'all are making me feel better.

Yeah, she stayed in the kimono shirts, diaper, and swaddle for the entire 4-day hospital stay. I brought a pair of pajamas for her but I didn't put them on her until it was time to go home.

I've got a bunch of the shirts at home, too, and that's what we've been keeping her in most of the time since we left the hospital a week ago.

Mostly diaper and hospital swaddle until later in the 2nd day. Then they brought us the kimono tops. Our A&A swaddles were so so big on her still. Next time I will bring some kimono tops of our own and small swaddles.

Our hospital was funny. I had heard everyone just leaves their babies in the hospital clothes, so I only brought a going home outfit and one other one.

She wore the little hospital kimono shirt with a diaper and swaddled in a blanket the first day, and the nurses kept asking "Oh don't you have an outfit for her?" I felt like a negligent mama so I had my mom run to our house and get some newborn outfits. She ended up wearing zip up sleepers the rest of the time. Next time I'll bring several outfits so I have the option.
