We are hopefully bringing our 25 weeker preemie baby boy home in the next 6 weeks and I was wondering what others used for their preemies to sleep in for the first few months. I was thinking of getting him the Rock N Play. Any thoughts? We used the bassinet portion of the Pack N Play for my older daughter but I was thinking the incline of the RNP might be better for the preemie?

Rock and play - she had reflux so it was a necessity for us.

@Madison43: Ditto for us. Mine was 36 weeks and fairly tiny and had reflux. She was in an RnP until she was 3 months old.

We went straight to the crib with our 35 weeker, with the blessing of our NICU doctor. He said there was no reason not to, but we didnt have any feeding or reflux issues.

Crib for us as well. He was born at 31 weeks and brought home 5 weeks later.

We alternated between crib and rock & play for our 35 weeker.

Our son was 35 weeks and we did basinette in our room beside the bed til about 6 weeks old then transitioned to the crib for night sleep. We still held him a lot and used the basinette for naps for weeks/months after that...everything is a blur of that time!

My friend's little preemie slept in and RNP.

We tried the crib because I was worried about airway on an incline but he didn't sleep until two months later we put him in a RNP in a miracle blanket.

Rock and play for quite awhile, then elevated crib. (25 weeker with severe reflux).
