We're baptizing our daughter in 2 weeks. I'm trying to figure out what to make for 12 or 14 adults that will keep okay while we're at church. I was considering making a lasagna but I'm not sure how to keep it warm for 2+ hours while we're away from the house.
Suggestions?

What about a cold lunch buffet? Side salads, veggie/fruit platters, and sandwich trays. You could make it ahead, put it all in your fridge, and just set it out once you get home.

Our DD is being baptized this weekend. We're doing finger sandwiches, pasta salad and probably another big regular salad + coffee and tea. But...I'm just ordering most it from a local bakery. We'll also have cake.

What about like BBQ pulled pork sandiwches? Just put 2-3 pork roasts in the slow cooker and let it sit! then right before you leave shred it add BBQ sauce and let it sit in the slow cooker.

@HeatherlovesKenny: @Honeybee: @MrsBrewer: both of these ideas sound great! Maybe I'll combine them and do the pulled pork sandwiches while also doing a veggie platter and pasta salad....!
Of course cake will be involved, too.

I like the slow cooker idea for sandwiches or whatever. I also really like quiche and you could keep it in the fridge and just warm it up in the over at the last minute-- it doesn't have to be hot (after it's already cooked of course) but you could just take the chill from the fridge off.
And little sandwiches and salads are always nice.

We had DS baptized in July, we had finger sandwiches, pasta salad, potato salad and a barbecue. The sandwiches, potato & pasta salad were refrigerated until we got home and then my dad fired up the grill.
