I dislike indoor accidents, when he escapes out of our yard, his social anxiety(he hates all men except DH) and going on walks in cold weather!

When she gets in scraps with other dogs. She's not aggressive, but she doesn't take any crap from grumpy dogs. I call her my dorky dog because she doesn't know how to react the right way in social situations with other dogs. It's frustrating.
And dog poop.

Our younger dog barks at EVERYTHING. Even when hubs comes in/out of the house.

I have to say the licking themselves part... drives me absoutely batty!

-My fear of him escaping (he thinks it's a game.... we fenced in our front yard but it still scares me)
-His separation anxiety so I hate to leave him alone and therefore rarely leave the house. And when I do I have to clean everything up, roll up the blinds, etc. or he'll eat them.
-His need for attention when we just don't always have the time for it anymore. Not his fault of course.
But it's all worth it

The hardest thing for me is the hassle of making arrangements for him when we travel. I hate always having to ask friend to keep him but I also hate sending him to the kennel.

@Artbee: Have you tried crate training? Cooper has anxiety and keeping him crated seemed to help while we are at work. However, my cousins dog destroyed the crate so it's not for every dog!
I have the fear of losing him - him leaving the yard, the house catching fire while I'm at work, a tornado hitting while I'm at work. I hate MY anxiety. I also hate his anxiety, which I'm sure I've created!
I hate the unexpected health issue that requires a monthly shot, pills, and prescription dog food.

Vacuuming two or more times a day because it is currently shedding season.
Spending lots of money on the vet/flea medicine, etc.
His ridiculous bark when people come to the door.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@alison206: Doesn't work for him, he just breaks out of the crate. We've tried everything, he's actually gotten a lot better thanks to meds and old age, but he still has his moments.

@MamaMoose: totally agree on this. One of pups is easy for others to take. The other is deaf and an escape artist so it makes it really hard for others to take him on.

1.Finding someone to take her when we are away. My SIL is house sitting while we are away and I've been unhappy with the reports we've gotten.
2. Having to spend potty time outside when it's negative degrees out.
3. Feeling guilty when I want to chill on the couch and she needs a run.

I love my dog and he really is a good boy.
1. Just the attention he needs/wants after a long day of work and trying to take care of the baby.
2. Finding someone to watch him when we travel although this really isn't an issue most of the time.
3. Barking at night.

- the barking - I'm terrified I'm going to lose my mind when LO arrives. god help me if the dog wakes a sleeping baby because he needs to bark at my in-laws.. (they live in the other side of the house)
- feeling guilty when he wants attention and I'm not feeling so hot...particularly when he has stinky breath and I'm feeling extra nauseous!
- cleaning up puke. he throws up when he hasn't eaten, throws up when he's upset, and throws up if he eats rawhide or part of a toy.

My dog is generally really good - very sweet, no accidents inside, etc. But I do dislike:
- Walking the dog in rain, snow, cold, etc.
- Vet bills
- Shedding! OMG, my dog never really shed before and now she's shed all spring and summer
- Barking at the doorbell

Our dog has no concept of weekends. We get up at 6am during the week, and we're lucky if he stays quiet enough til 6:30 on the weekends. @sorrycharlie: Ours throws up if he hasn't eaten either!!! He also refuses to eat if he's moody or mad at us or if there's the slightest change in routine like DH walks him instead of me, so that ultimately means I'll be cleaning up puke later.

Thankfully my husband does 90% of the dog care and he its a great dog, but the shedding... It is crazy, we constantly have tumbleweeds of dog fur! Also he tries to eat his poop... That part is super gross, if anyone has a suggestion I am all ears!

@cyndistar3: yes! the lick spots.
And taking her out in blizzard conditions.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Tidybee: not that I wish dog eating disorders on anyone, but I'm glad I'm not alone!! people think I'm crazy. yesterday he threw up because I wouldn't let him outside until he ate (he immediately runs to my ILs to play). seriously dude? refusing food to prove a point? I have a toddler on my hands!!
nectarine / 2834 posts
@sorrycharlie: You're not kidding!! Ours is so stubborn! Wait til this child comes...I swear, he's going to starve himself for 2 weeks. The main reason we have to get up so early on the weekends is b/c he'll puke anyway if we just ignore him and not feed him. What kind of dog do you have?? We have a Beagle/Hound mix.

Number one biggest pet peeve (hehe) is that she is constantly eating my underwear and DH's nice dress socks! Ruins them and we have to replace them all the time.
Number 2, indoor accidents & that she whines. She doesn't bark very often, but she has this high-pitched whine when she's not getting enough attention....it's ridiculous!
kiwi / 729 posts
-barking at any knocking, doorbell, my phone ringing - and the worst part is that it wakes up DS from his naps
-jumping all over our guests when they walk through the front door (we've TRIED for 5 years to teach him not to do it)
-pulling during walks - again, tried for 5 years to stop him
-not being able to go anywhere for an entire day (where you can't take a dog) so always having to cut a visit short to go home and walk the dog.
-winter walks
-guilt from hearing the dog howl when we leave
-always monitoring my dog when any dog crosses our path....there was always some sort of confrontation
those are the main reasons why we rehomed him.

I hate poop eating, barking, and the crazy shedding.

We have two Yorkies and a Golden Retriever. The Yorkies are constantly barking at everything and nothing. It's a wonder LO can sleep through the ruckus. They also have accidents on the carpet every so often. The Golden Retriever sheds like there's no tomorrow. I vacuum daily, but a small Golden Retriever still comes out of the vacuum canister. She chews on EVERYTHING and has destroyed at least seven pet beds. She ate a stuffed animal monkey head when she was 5 months old and needed $2,500 emergency surgery.
But I love them and wouldn't trade them for the world

- Travel arrangements and having to get home in time for walks. I love walking him, but it makes it more difficult when you're 2-hours away and need to leave things early to make sure he gets out. We also can't spontaneously travel unless we want to take him with us.
- Walking him in the freezing cold. I hate being cold!
- Shedding.
- The fact that their lives are so much shorter than ours. Mine is a senior and we're going to have to start dealing with end-of-life stuff really soon.

@littlefox same for me, the fact that i will outlive bot of my dogs gives me anxiety attacks sometimes. i try not to think about this. they are only 2 and 4, but it's a real fear of mine. i don't know how i would ever get over it!!
that being said, their little accidents (especially on the carpet) drive me absolutely up the wall.
