this would apply to working parents when home, too!
my husband is always wondering why I don't "relax" or "nap" while my DD naps. I think he thinks a magical fairy comes to the house and cleans and does laundry 
seriously, though. those couple hours are my only real shot to do stuff I can't do while she's awake - usually constant laundry, cleaning, dishes (I would kill for a dishwasher..), prepping her lunch for when she wakes up...

Generally I shower and brush my teeth, etc, first, so even if it's a short nap that's done. Dishes, load the dishwasher, meal prep- if I'm feeling motivated I may even start our dinner. Whatever chore is the most overdue (as in which is grosser, the bathroom I haven't cleaned it the pile of laundry taking over the bedroom?).
After I've done the big chores I isually do sit and relax for a bit since I know I won't after she wakes up. But sometimes she takes a really long nap and I feel guilty that I should have done something more productive with my time.

Nap 1. I usually put on make up, do dishes, a little bible reading & some kind of exercise.
Nap 2. I generally do laundry, clean the fridge, mop. Those kinds of things

I work during the week, so I relax when she naps on the weekends! I desperately need it to recharge and DH does all the chores:)

I try to clean and organize- make dinner- etc. Now that I am near my EDD- I nap! I am so tired after working all week- naptime is necessary!

Nap 1 - Clean up breakfast, Vacuum, dress for gym. Sit and drink coffee and watch TV for a bit and pay bills.
Nap 2 - Cleaning activity of they day (I rotate rooms so I don't get overwhelmed) and prep dinner if I have time.

@Andrea: I'm not good at relaxing either. I can get like 3 or 4 hours of sleep & I will still struggle to quiet my mind & attempt to nap when she naps. It's a problem sometimes.

lately, I've been watching Grey's anatomy for two hours straight
I also straighten up the house, start/fold laundry, clean the floors, empty/fill dishwasher, clean up from lunch, make phone calls/send emails, etc. I tend to be most productive in the first half hour, so I try not to sit down until I've done everything on my "must do" list, or else I just succumb to tv/internet!

Today I did 3 loads of laundry, ate lunch, dinner prepped, took the dog out, cleaned poop off the lawn, did some budgeting, looked at ordering my mom's birthday gift., general clean up and dishes
It's usually a combo of eat lunch, shower, dinner prep and chores.

She usually naps for 20-40 minutes so I'm running around trying to quickly do laundry, start dinner prep, feed myself, clean something, and sit my pregnant butt down for a minute before she wakes up. Sometimes she has days when she won't settle and I'm rocking her the whole time just to get her to rest.

@cheesetomywhine: I love eating snacks while LO is asleep. We generally always eat together but sometimes food is just tastier when you're alone on the couch lol

He only naps for 30 mins. So I usually finish getting myself ready and then watch tv or knit. I clean when he is awake. Can't waste precious few nap minutes cleaning! Lol

Y'all are so good! I pretty much just veg and watch TV. I do a little cleaning though. But nap time is me time and I take advantage!

At the moment? Read my kindle because my LO will only nap on me. Ever. Seriously. Sigh.
Once upon a time she would nap in her bed and it was glorious. Usually nap 1 I would eat breakfast and just totally zone out (watch tv/surf online) and get a bit of a quiet start to my day. Nap 2 I would shower, eat lunch, do laundry and/or dishes and/or tidy up. Nap 3 I would clean, dinner prep, and often work on (photo) editing if I had work to do. Nap 4 I would make dinner.

DD sleeps anywhere between 1-2 hours in her one nap so honesly I don't get too much done because I never quite know how much time I have! I always shower and get ready for the day, do a small chore, eat lunch and if I have time I lay down until she gets up (I'm 27 weeks pregnant). Almost all chores etc. are done while she's awake and playing independently or she "helps" me lol

Clean, start chopping/prep for dinner, work-at-home stuff (usually purchasing or packing items or taking photos of them),eat lunch, browse facebook/online, watch tv, play videogames, or read.

I eat lunch, do some dishes, laundry, etc and then do some writing work or "try" to relax. On getting better at it - I'll make coffee, light a candle and watch some bad daytime tv to relax for a bit

I nap, read or relax. I need it after working all week. He likes napping in our bed best so I usually lay with him to get some extra snuggles.

When she was little and taking 35 min crap naps, it would be shower during nap 1, lunch during nap 2, dishes during nap 3, make supper during nap 4. When she went to 2 naps, they were longer and I got sooooo much done. Shower, eat, dishes, cleaning, yardwork. It was glorious. Now, I'm back at work, so for naps on the weekend, it's half cleaning, half vegging.

When they do nap, it's extremely rare it's at the same time. I'm talking not even once a month. Today, was one of those awesome days, and I had 1 hour and 20 glorious minutes of a double nap, and I relaxed and online shopped the whooooole time.

My three year old won't nap anymore 
so while the little one naps we read books and take out activities the little one can't play with....or I try to convince him to have quiet time so that I can relax/catch up on emails/housework but usually it doesn't work.

It depends on the day, but most days I just do a chore or two, laundry, and prep dinner and clean kitchen. One day a week, I give myself "off"
To watch tv (usually scandal), send emails, post on here, and online shop.

Usually eat and relax. Her naptime is my break time, I do most chores when she is awake. I've also been going to sleep at the same time she goes to bed (sometimes earlier) so that is really my only break in the day.
