I received a thank you card with a GC to a restaurant that I don't eat at 
The gift giver knows I eat healthy/paleo so I was a little surprised. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it. I have absolutely NO desire to eat there and their food honestly makes me sick since I've switched eating habits 
What would you do?

Re-gift or give it to someone who likes it. . I got one to Red Lobster last year and gave it away. I can't say I've ever eaten there.

You could donate it to a church....they may be able to pass it on to a family in need.

My sister uses plastic jungle all the time and highly recommends it. If it's to a place my parents or sister would go they usually pay me and take the card. I do the same for them when they get a card they don't want.

Regift. I consider that using it and getting your moneys worth. You were going to have to spend $50 on someones gift..... Now you dont.

I've sold giftcards to friends because they were for itunes and neither DH or I buy entertainment online. Safeway buys giftcards, but I'm not sure of the payout. I've also seen people swap giftcards via craigslist. That might work.

Regift! I have done that more than a few times, even if there is no holiday or event coming up. Why hang onto something you wont use? I got a giftcard to a movie theater that we don't have within 3 hours of here..from someone who lives two minutes away from us lol! I sent it to @tororojo:

@MrsTiz: we were planning to go Thurs and then I got sick...which is probably just as well because mall traffic would have been CRAZY! So I still haven't seen it. But soon!

I've used http://www.cardpool.com before for this EXACT situation. They don't give you the full value, it depends on the gift card, but I think I got $22 amazon dollars for a $25 gift card. And I definitely made the amazon dollars a gift to myself!
