What do you do with your old technology?
Do you use it until it is dead?
Do you sell it when you decide to upgrade? (How/where -- ebay/CL/give away/other?)
I tend to use computers until they are dead and then freecycle/recycle. Cameras, I will give them away to my brothers or mom & dad since I usually have a better one than what they have. If I upgrade my phone, I sell the old one as soon as I can, usually on CL.

Usually upgrade and then sell (ebay first choice, craigslist or to a friend is second choice).

We keep them. I think we have like... 5 old iPhones around the house. Yikes. I should really just recycle them or re-sell them.

We donate them to this non-profit that gives phones to soldiers stationed overseas (along with free minutes to call home). In the past we've also donated them to local domestic violence shelters.

Computers - I'm pretty sure the last 2 were pretty dead; I gave them to my dad and I don't know what he did with them!
Phones - I think I recycled the old non smart phones; I gave my last smart phone to my dad and I'll probably give this one to him again once I upgrade

We donate old phones. We've always used laptops 'til the crapout they we recycle with a company that my work uses for recycling old computers.

I unlock my old phones and sell them on Gazelle. Everything else, we tend to recycle.

We keep them until a few years down the rooad, we try to figure why we still have it. At that point, we donate/ ecycle or trash.
Iphones we hold onto because we can use it as a backup.

I always make sure to keep one spare around in case of a disaster until we're up for an upgrade (in which case we don't need a back up) and then donate the last spare to goodwill because by then it usually wouldn't be worth selling. We try to hang on to technology a good long while!
