Those are two really big parenting issues, and I like having them as more easily accessible sub-topics.

Out of curiosity, where are people putting these other threads? Maybe I missed that...

Either way, I think leaving it the way it is would be better. Otherwise, you might as well just have one drop-down bar with all of the various sublevels written out. I think it's too confusing otherwise

I agree with @LovelyPlum: and I actually think you might get MORE posts in the wrong place if you do it like this. I think people might be more likely to just stop at sleep or feeding since they're upfront instead of posting in solids or wherever their post should actually be.

ETA: Ooops - I didn't realize how these boards actually work, so never mind about them being more likely to be placed in the wrong place!

@mrbee: visually, I'm also not sure about it...because the list is alphabetical, it almost looks like the main category "other" is a third category of "parenting". But maybe I'm overthinking things... I explored the new format a bit, and I see the value in linking the sleep posts and feeding posts. It just raises a few other issues as well.

ETA: I wonder, then if people would still click on the main "parenting link", not realizing there are other categories besides "feeding" and "sleeping"?

I enjoy specific categories, but not going to lie sometimes I get "stressed" about finding the right category in the already very large list. There are so many & when I'm in a hurry I may not be finding the "correct" one.
