I miss sleeping in, random shopping trips, peaceful shopping trips, hanging out with friends, date nights.

I miss going out for drinks with my husband. My inlaws are wonderfully helpful but they wont have E overnight until she sleeps through consistently.... and they are the only people who will look after her for us. We really, really need a date night!!
I also miss sleeping in. My husband occasionally gets up with E on a Saturday or Sunday but she still wakes me up when she wakes.... and DH usually comes into the bedroom at least once an hour to ask me something!!

First and foremost I miss sleeping past 6am. But I also miss lazy weekends where I used to wake up and there was no reason to get out of bed and reading a book. A recent thing (and very important thing) I miss when I'm feeling sick only having to care for myself instead of having to be sick and take care of a LO at the same time.

I miss having hours on end to just read. Now it takes me forever to read a book since I'm reading in small bursts. I used to finish 3 or 4 books a week!
I also miss just hanging out with friends at restaurants. I still meet up with them with LO, but it's definitely not the stress-free experience it used to be

I miss sleep. J sleeps pretty well but I miss that one full night of uninterrupted sleep. I also miss going out for dinner and a movie. Even if we can get someone to watch him I'd have to pump in between and worry about keeping the milk cold in between.

I don't remember life pre children. I've been a mom since I was 17.

Same here - doing thing on the spur of the moment. Also, not always looking at the clock to make sure we leave at a decent time so the kids don't go to bed too late. We do have times that they do go to bed at 11pm but definitely rare since they still wake up at the same time the next morning. I also miss eating out without the distractions or more like enjoying my meals when I do eat. Sometimes I feel like I'm inhaling my food b/c I just want to get it over with so I can "relax" and have a couple of conversations with friends or even with my husband before we have to come home to do bed time. There's more but those are the ones that pops up in my head right now.

@Mae: This. I'm still TTC, but I think about this. I love being able to do what I want to do and get overwhelmed if I have my days too planned. I guess I'll be in for a rude awakening when we are lucky enough to get KU! But it'll be worth it

@grizz: Same! Sleep, hands down. Especially the last couple of days LO has been a nightmare with sleep. We were up for 60 hours with ten minute naps thrown in here and there (a product of 4m sleep regression, holidays messing up his schedule, and getting shots the day before xmas eve). Last night he finally slept! And this morning I feel so refreshed and thankful he slept in two hour blocks. Like, if I could go back and tell myself how happy I would be to sleep for two straight hours, I'd think I was mad. I can't even imagine what a 10 hour sleep like when I was going to school would feel like!
