I try to suck it up unless it is escalating in which case I'll take an Advil. If my head kills, I'll take two but l heard that doesn't do anything.
What do you take when you have a headache?

Tylenol, and I also drink a lot of water. If it feels like it could be a migraine I take Excedrin as soon I realize.

If I am at work and can't leave I usually take some pain meds because otherwise I might as well go home.
If I am at home I try and lie down with no light or sound with a cold cloth on my head. If hours later I still have a headache I take medicine.
Of course this was before I was pregnant... now I avoid taking meds if I can. I've taken Tylenol once thus far for a super bad sinus pressure headache.

As soon as it starts, if I'm able to, I prefer to do a glass of water and just relax. That usually works but if it doesn't (or if I'm out and can't relax) I prefer an advil but will settle for a tylenol in pregnancy

Peppermint essential oils on my temples. I know it sounds silly but it works like a charm. Probably the fastest and easiest remedy ever.
If it's a migraine I take excederin because I haven't found anything else that works.

Motrin. I'm probably a little too liberal in my dosages, but I have a tendency to get very bad headaches frequently.

Everythinggggg. I get migraines, so I start with Advil, and if that doesn't work I take Relpax (Rx) and take a nap if I can. On Friday I had a migraine so bad I seriously considered taking a Vicodin left over from my egg retrieval (jk... sort of, haha)

I start with one Advil and add another if it's not helping, and drink more water because usually it's a combo of dehydration and tension for me. I also have a "Neck King" which helps me reduce pressure at my trigger points.
@Arden: I need to try this! I'm really curious about essential oils...

Excedrin and more caffeine. I woke up with a bad congestion one this morning. It took until noon to feel better.

@T-Mom: Make sure you get quality ones - that will influence the efficacy. I love essential oils. I don't consider them to be magical cure-alls like some people, but for certain things they work amazingly well.
Young Living is probably the highest quality, but it's expensive. DoTerra is good as well. I use Eden's Garden which aren't the highest quality but they are very affordable and at least not diluted or anything.
Peppermint essential oil also is incredible for morning sickness and car sickness!

@Arden: thanks for the tips! I have a friend who sells doTerra so I've been thinking about buying some oils. I may wall you for some more advice!

When I'm not pregnant? 2 Motrin, 3 if it's really bad. I'll alternate every two hours with Excedrin if it's bordering on migraine territory.
When I'm pregnant? Tylenol, aka sugar pills
I also try to drink caffeine, water, and lay down. Generally, it's seemed to work so far, but I can't wait to be able to take Motrin again!!

Advil. But I haven't taken one for a headache in about 2 years. I try to avoid it and just drink water and rest until I find it passing. If I had migraines, I'm sure my response would be different.

I usually just lie down in the dark if I can. If not, I take Tylenol - that usually works for me.
