I tried candy crush after hearing everyone on hear talk about it. I like the game, but I don't like asking friends for things and I'm not going to pay for a game.
I'm hoping to find another game to play instead.

I don't play candy crush on facebook, I play it on my phone.
However, I was super addicted to Zombie Island until all my friends stopped playing it and I couldn't really do much without their help unless I wanted to pay for it.

@.twist.: so if you play on your phone you don't have to pay/ask friends?

@artbee: Oh yes. You still need to request tickets and lives from friends. Sorry my brain was not computing.

@artbee: Yea! Honestly, I feel like there aren't many of those facebook games that are free. At some point, I think you have to pay or use friends in all of them.

@.twist.: What does it even mean to ask friends? what are you asking them to do?
pineapple / 12802 posts
@artbee: Well, for example, in Zombie Island, you need to ask them for items. Random items that help you build certain "structures" that help you progress through the game. There are also quests to accomplish to help progress in the game, and you usually need to "gift" your friends certain items. Like, the quest will be to gift 5 friends a hypnoberry fruit (or something ridiculous like that) and you need that friend to "accept" said fruit. Alternately, a quest will tell you that you need to receive 5 hypnoberry fruits from friends. The more friends you have, the easier it is to accomplish quests and stuff... A LOT of facebook games run on this type of "friend" structure.

@.twist.: So weird. So when they ask me for a life or something, they're just accepting and not giving me one of theirs?
pineapple / 12802 posts
@artbee: Yea, in Candy Crush, when you request a life from someone, they are not giving you one of their lives. They are just pressing the "OK" button and you get an extra life! Candy Crush is one of the less frustrating facebook friend games! IMO.

@.twist.: Ok so I was a bad friend. I thought I was giving away my things so I didn't accept.... now I feel bad! Thank you for explaining it to me, now I don't feel so bad bugging people.

@artbee: haha yea! If you know they play candy crush, they shouldn't get annoyed if you request lives/tickets from them and likewise, don't worry about giving away your own lives because you still get to keep them! (Honestly they probably didn't even notice that you didn't give them a life, if they're anything like me they sent out a request for a life to like.... 6 people).
You can only ever have 5 lives though, so if you have 5 lives available, DO NOT accept a life that a friend has given you until you have 1 - 4 lives. It will just disappear if you accept it with 5. You cannot have 6 or 7 or 8 lives.

Candy crush, but I'm not addicted to it. I only play it when I'm bored or getting ready for bed.
