I started thinking about this, because I wonder what foods our kids will remember from their childhoods and crave as an adult.

My mom baked cinnamon buns on special occasions, so those fire up the nostalgia neurons whenever I pass a Cinnabon. We also used to grow perilla leaves in our backyard growing up, and marinate or pickle them to make tons of ggaennip. They have a strong scent/flavor, so it's a big part of my childhood. Sames goes for natto, a fermented soybean that I grew up eating.

What foods you ate as a kid are deeply nostalgic for you?
