I do think organic items do taste different.. Fresher for sure.

Not many think it's "sanitary" but I LOVE raw milk, tastes soo much better straight from the farm. Eggs too are different fresh from the farm!

Apples... when you pick them organically at the orchard - amazing!

Everything we're having in the Philippines countryside is pesticide free, but I can't taste the difference!

Tomatoes! I hate styrofoam tasting grocery store tomatoes, nothing like a fresh tomato out if the garden! Yum

@regberadaisy: that's the truth! I know a lot of lactose intolerant people and the only dairy they can have is raw milk! Some of my friends even make their own cheese and butter from raw milk. My mom makes her own yogurt and kefir as well.

I wonder how much of the difference in taste has to do with it being picked when ripe as opposed to the pesticides. For example, tomatoes in the store are picked early so as to survive transport. The red tomatoes in my garden always taste better than the store's, even though there have been times when I've sprayed them.

@Grace & @looch: I agree, I think local food is what makes for better flavors rather than organic. I won't even by store tomatoes or berries anymore. I eat them until I can't stand them in season and then crave them until next year!
