Cancun! Easy to get to (non-stop direct flight), DD was great on the plane both ways, stayed at a fabulous hotel and had so much fun in the sun! We can't wait to go again!

Hawaii! It was perfect - K loved being in the water, loved the nightlife crowd in Waikiki, and the condo we rented made everything really easy!

Beaches in Turks & Caicos! Completely amazing place for families with young children.

Another vote for Hawaii. However he wasn't walking then, so I'm guessing that mobility would be a game changer.

We haven't been on vacation yet. Probably won't go on a specific vacation until she is 4.

@SleepyMonkey: I would love to go there! But I cheaped out when I was quoted 14k for a week without flights, for an infant, a 4 yo and two adults. Seemed steep to me and would have eaten more than we had budgeted for that trip! Have heard awesome things about it though!

We just did Mexico with E and it was great! I had a few negatives, though-the room was small and not luxurious (at a 5 star super kid friendly hotel, even the basic room should be luxe), the food took too long (an hour for dinner doesn't fly with babies) and the service was hit and miss. It's been our only vacation with her. We are talking about doing waterscapes condos in April, though

I was going to come on here and say Cancun too! We stayed at an all-inclusive resort so everything was so convenient!

Our Disney trip...we stayed off park in a condo and we had a rental car.
The best part though, was that we didn't change time zones.

I'm so jealous of those of you who live pretty near to Mexico. Mexico was the best holiday we have ever had (kid-free) and I would love to take E but it's a 12 hour flight from here!! We've only taken E away once so far, at three months old - we went to Devon for a few days. I'm desperate to take her on a proper beach holiday abroad!

@Cherrybee: Agreed! I would love to have closer, tropical holiday options! Some of my friends have taken their LO's to Mexico/Barbados etc. but I cannot imagine her on a 10+hr flight and coping with the time difference!
We are going to Majorca next month, which should still hopefully be nice and warm

We have taken DD on several trips, but they keep getting better as she gets older... my favorite was our week on the Cape. She loved the beach and the water and it was much better being in a house than in a hotel.

@shopaholic: @shinymama: I can't wait to take LO to Hawaii!!! That's where DH and I went on our honeymoon and he's been itching to go back. I'm not ready for the 10 hour flight with DD though, so we're going to wait until she's a bit older.

@cherrybee, when I was there, I met a lovely woman from Brazil who traveled 17 hours

This is making me less scared to take our 7 month old to Hawaii as planned next year

@dolphin: Exactly. We are thinking about going in February and I am *not* looking forward to the flight... especially since DD will be 2 and we will have to get her her own ticket.

Jamaica ( a few times) but we are going on a multi country Eurotrip in September .. so I am hoping that one takes the cake!

It's so hard to decide, each trip has been so much fun and different at each age. I think DS probably had the most fun on our last trip that we just got back from, since he was able to run around the parks and interact with all the friendly people - London and Istanbul.

We've only done Myrtle Beach so far and it was a blast. We'll be heading to HHI in September and I'm sure that will soon become a fave spot for us, it was highly recommended to us!

We took him down to Ocean Isle Beach, NC for a family vacation about a month ago, and it was amazing. He fell in love with the beach, and it was so fun to watch how exuberant and fearless he was in the waves!

@blackbird: From Brazil?? I always forget how huge South America is - I imagine Brazil to be, like, just next door to Mexico!!!
@illumina: I'm suitably jealous even of Majorca! I've been looking at last minute deals but I think we will end up in the UK again this year. We're looking to go away the last week of September so we might in your neck of the woods again.

Lanzarote! There were playgrounds everywhere and DD had so much fun exploring.

@looch: we are taking LO to Disney in October and I am so excited! She will be turning 2 that week. What age was your lo when you went?

We've only done camping trips but they have all been really fun! The older he gets the more fun they are.
