I've learned how to expertly pee in a cup. I never get any on my hands anymore! What about you?

Well my husband says the school system failed me as a child when I tell him something new I learned about the female body every day!

@Leialou: what is the secret? I'm really poor with my aim (?) but I'm just a beginner.
Um, I've learnt that it's not just as straight forward as have unprotected sex and get pregnant... Thanks high school health class and your scare tactics and lack of bio education!

@SweetMamaM: Agreed!!!!! When it took us awhile to get our BFP, I was like WTF?! In school, they make it sound like if you have unprotected sex once, you'd get knocked up so you try your whole life not to get pregnant, and when you DO want to get pregnant, it doesn't happen. Uhh.... LOL!!
@chopsuey119: @Leialou: How do y'all do this?! If the cup isn't like RIGHT there, I'm sure it'll be all over the place. Not sure how this technique will work out once my belly gets big and I can't hold the cup right up next to it!!
I've learned that your body gives you all sorts of messages, but we (at least I) never paid attention to them until we started TTC, that chances of achieving pregnancy is only 25% each month because it only happens during ovulation, that BD every day is hard work (haha!).

@SweetMamaM: @Alivoo01: I press the cup against me and pee real slowly. After a couple of seconds the cup is full enough for me to dip my OPK into.

@Leialou: I do that now too, but not sure how this will work once our bellies get big further along in the pregnancy...

I've learned that I am not patient at all. I've also learned that my husband is amazing, strong, and supportive.
The last thing is that I really want a baby. That probably sounds weird, but until recently, I never felt strongly about having kids. I always figured that I would someday, but now I really dream about my future family.

@futuremama: ditto to everything you said I didn't always feel this way, but when it hit, it was sudden and strong desire! Lol

I've learned why not to take ibuprofen, that lube is bad for conception, all sorts of charting lessons, and how to deal with jealousy/grief. It's been quite a learning experience and I'm just hoping I can learn how to actually get pregnant soon lol.

I've learned that as much as I want to have control over this baby making thing, I don't and I have to learn how to live with it.

I got very good at peeing in a cup-- start to pee, so you know where it will go, stop, then put the cup there and start again. I don't know that I'll be able to when I have a big belly.
I learned a lot more about my body and the signals/symptoms to know what is going on when, from reading TCOYF and temping/charting symptoms.
I learned, what I already knew, that I have a very hard time with things that are out of my control.

I thought I learned how to pee in a cup, but some mornings there are still accidents! I definitely learned a lot about interpreting BBT charts. Is there any practical use for that skill? TTC has also taught me to stop being afraid to tell medical professionals exactly what I want and need.

I learned that I am a complete control freak and I am really inpatient. Oh and that I am really rubbish at being seductive and should never try to initiate sex (it's scary, apparently!).

I've learned that no matter how many times I try and convince myself that I need to wait to pee til 14dpo, I can never wait. I've learned that my husband doesn't get impressed when I shake him awake saying my boobs are sore! I've learned that I have a lot of friends who found out about my infertility and they would rather not talk to me then accidentally bring it up. Kind of sad because I love hearing when friends and fam are pregnant!

I've learned that life isn't fair.
Oh, and I'm also a total pee in a cup expert now too.

@sweetchic - Ibuprofen is an NSAID and can prevent ovulation. I think its more likely to have an affect when you take a lot, but us TTC girls don't like to take the chance. Unfortunately, just about everything other than Tylenol is out (www.lyberty.com/encyc/articles/nsaid.html)

It's more difficult to pee in a cup than it sounds. Forget about peeing on a stick directly.
TTC is definitely not as easy as "they" always said it was.
Cervical mucus. Enough said.
It's okay when the gunky stuff spills out.
You can read different books on TTC and you'll still ask yourself what you're doing wrong, or if something's wrong with you.
You'll always wonder if there's something more you can do to help the swimmers.
I'm sure there's a ton more.
