Trust yourself. I never understand how hitting a kid is supposed to teach them to anything except to fear the people they are supposed to trust. Otherwise no advice because I'm not there yet. Hang in there and good luck!

I'm right there with you, though C is just 2.5. But I do have the secret to getting her to listen. Just make sure what you are saying is "could you hand me the remote control so I can turn on Daniel Tiger?" She listens to that one every time.

@Applesandbananas: ugh, I feel for you. It was so hard when I was pregnant with #2. I specifically recall crying outside this summer because I wanted to put the bubbles away and go back in the air conditioning and LO wanted to just stay outside and whine about bubbles. I called my husband crying and was like "I can't take it anymore, it's hot, I'm tired, I hate bubbles, wahhhhhhh!"

@Applesandbananas: oh no! Sorry to hear about the wake ups! Ugh!! I so feel your pain about not listening. It's SO bad right now, LO turned 3 in October and we also had a new baby so I know a lot is going on in his little head, but it's so so so hard to deal with. I can easily lose my patience and so can DH. We aren't into spanking either. I have been listening to Janet Lansburys podcast and reading her advice. It's helping to put ME in a better place to deal with this, but I'm very much working on it. Some days LO doesn't listen at all, like, I say something right in his face with him looking at me, and he cannot repeat it because he's just literally elsewhere. It's so annoying. I'm hoping this is just "3" or a phase, or the new baby because it's getting old and I def feel like this is worse than whining. It's hard to say the same things every. Single. Day. And not get through. Hugs!!!!!!!
